I am watching Fox & FRiends right now, and a coming segment has been introduced as, Archbishop Dolan, saying Obama is not to be trusted. He was lied to.

Doesn't matter what Obama does now, he has lost the trust of many who believed him. Even EJ Dionne is ticked off big time and speaking out about it.

On that note, Jerry Pournelle had an interesting anecdote in his commentary on this move by Obama and Sibelius. It is worth posting here:

“Some years ago the California legislature contemplated a law that would require any hospital that had a maternity ward to perform abortions on demand.

The elderly Mother Superior who ran St. Joseph’s hospital went to the legislature and said as follows:

‘I am as abbess of the order that owns this hospital a corporation sole, and I own this hospital. If you pass this law I will send all the patients to other hospitals, discharge the staff, cancel all the insurance policies, and order the demolition of all the buildings. Thank you.’

Now she was very much of the Old School, and no one doubted she meant every word of it. The law never got to the floor of the assembly. I have no idea what President Obama thinks he is doing here, but I cannot see how this will help him be reelected.”

Hopefully today’s clergy will awaken the laity en mass. This nun sure is taking appropriate action.

In all the years I spent in Catholic schools, I never saw a nun strike a student. But then, I never saw a nun that needed to strike a student!

where is this firm? I wish I could find similar to work for

The suit is being brought by The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, on behalf of EWTN.

Unfortunately his Church (of which I am also a member) doesn’t seem concerned with his quandary, only their own.

What gives you that impression? The Bishops are not looking for a waiver for Catholic organizations. They are fighting it as a First Amendment issue, which pertains to everyone, Catholic or not.

Why is she wearing the eye patch? Does it have something to her strokes, or does she have some disease specific to her eye?

You are absolutely right on that “tough broads” description. I went to schools taught by nuns for 12 years. I know they are tough (but in a good way).

They had no problem with “ObamaCare”, and certainly aren’t mentioning religious exemptions for this man’s private company (although he is a Catholic). That was the battle to fight, and they didn’t even show up.

I think so, insofar as doing nothing is irresponsible.

We are dealing with rank evil, worshippers of death. They know no fear of God nor have any common sense. Intellectually, they are suicide bombers. They are, I assure you, laughing. The only answer they know to resistance more force, and they have as much of it as anyone on this planet can have.

The fool is the one who underestimates how must destruction they will cause before they are annihilated.

Seemed they were positively in love with it, with few exceptions.

Maybe you don’t recall but the Catholic Church had concerns about Obamacare as well. Obama lied then like he’s lying now. Obama is a serial liar. I’m not even Catholic and it disgusts me to think he’ll lie to a man of the cloth. If he can lie to Catholic Bishops, he’ll lie to anyone.

I remember the bishops praising the access everyone would have to this “universal right”; when presidential elections roll around our hierarchy comes up with a list of things to consider (social justice and other lighter matters) while Rome stresses that abortion is the “paramount” issue. Rather than follow Rome’s lead, and let us live in a country without abortion-on-demand and “gay marriage”, that message is softened so that Catholics are quite comfortable voting for Dems en masse. Any conservative victory is won by Protestants; you can see it in the March for Life in their numbers.

Before anyone posts charts showing Church-going Catholics supporting the Repubs, understand they are a minority of Catholics.
