Ryan: Obama revised birth-control rule an 'accounting trick'

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) blasted President Obama’s changes to an administration ruling forcing religiously affiliated organizations to cover contraceptives in their health plans as a “trick.”

“It's a distinction without a difference. It's really an accounting trick,” said the Republican lawmaker on ABC’s This Week on Sunday.

“It forces the insurance company that they have to pay to do the coverage. So instead of making the institution itself, it reinforces the insurer,” Ryan said. “And a lot of these Catholic institutions are self-insured, and all insurers under this rule must provide these mandated benefits.”

“It's not a compromise. The president's doubled down,” he added.

I’m still trying to figure out why guys can’t get condoms free of charge too....if this is such a “fair” deal. Seems like we should all be getting a box of forty each month...compliments of the insurance companies too.

Only 40? Are they the extra large size?

I'd rather have Zero buy my Diesel, electricity, Natural Gas, human food, dog food and Property Tax. Free Beer would be good too.

Finally someone mentions self-insurance. Obama’s trick is just BS for everyone but absolutely no change for those who are self-insured. What an insult.

And what a judgement on the intelligence of hose who actually bought this crap.

As far as I can tell Obama is going with the exact same mandate he was before ‘the compromise’ while claiming he compromised. Did he change one thing?

The MSM is hung up on the story that Obama back-tracked, but the liberal feminists that are please with this ‘compromise’ betray the fact that he offers nothing. Plus I saw his chief of staff on one of the networks today say Obama didn’t give in on anything. Isn’t this how Obama ‘negotiated ‘ on the stimulus, Obama-care and deficit reduction?? Claim a huge concession while offering NOTHING?

Lib Catholics sold out again.

Can anyone explain to me why Obama is considered to be such a brilliant man? Everyone here can see through him in a second. Whenever he says something, it is so transparently false or stupid as to not fool a First grader. He reminds me of those ads they had about a year ago when the man would ask the girl if she wanted to ride the bike, and then give a boy a bike outside a circle while the girl had to stay within a circle. The girl looked mystified as to why the man was so stupid. I wish I could describe the ad better, but if you ever saw it, it was really funny.

Reminds me of how Clinton used to get out of some of his pickles. He would say, “I am sorry you all misunderstood.”, and the media would then talk about his heart felt apology until the cows came home.

Disgusting.

Yeah, I saw pretty quick what angle 0bama was playing.

He’s playing on the ignorance of the people who think he can (and thus insurance companies can) just pull money out of his “stash”.
