Pro-Romney Group Buys $500,000 In Michigan TV Ads (Newt Targeted)
NY Times ^ | February 13, 2012 | Jeremy W. Peters

Mitt Romney is getting some heavy air support in Michigan — the state where he was born and raised — as the “super PAC” supporting him invests almost $500,000 on television ads there.

According to someone who tracks Republican media spending, Restore Our Future has committed just over $470,000 for commercials starting Tuesday and set to run through Feb. 20. That marks the group’s largest purchase yet in Michigan, where it will have spent more than $700,000 on ads by next week.

The group said Monday that it would continue for now to run an ad called “Risk” that targets Newt Gingrich using images and attacks that have by now become familiar advertising fodder. It cites the proliferation of earmarks during his tenure as House speaker and shows a shot of him sitting with Nancy Pelosi on a couch in front of the Capitol, a shot taken from a public service announcement on global warming.

They still can't explain that the very same financial backer who was supporting Newt, and then dropped Newt will back Romney if Romney get's the nomination.
You don't suppose Romney will ask Newt to be his VP ? ( to you Newt supporters, that is just asking a question ) .

Check this out. Sheldon Adelson openly admits to helping Gingrich as a means of getting Romney elected and the morons still don’t get it.

>>If Mr. Gingrich could afford to continue campaigning, one of those people said, he might be able to draw off conservative and evangelical voters from Mr. Santorum, improving the chances of Mitt Romney, who Mr. Adelson believes has a better chance to win November’s general election.<<

Only Newt can stop this and he’s suddenly taking a softer tone on Romney.

That must explain why Newt is not putting any effort and money into Michigan, because he is tag teaming with Mitt Romney to take Rick out of the race,,, even Newt’s/Romney’s future money man even said that is what his very plan is, to take Rick out of the race.... coincidence ?

“If Gingrich dropped out of the GOP presidential nomination race, his support is more likely to flow to Santorum than Romney, the poll indicates. If just Romney, Santorum and Paul were in the race, Santorum would get 48 percent (up from 39 percent if Gingrich were in) and Romney 27 (up from 24 percent).”

GET OVER IT. NO ONE will “drop out” until the Tampa Convention.

“Four rabbis had a series of theological arguments, and three were always in accord against the fourth.
One day, the odd rabbi out, after the usual “3 to 1, majority rules” statement that signified that he had lost again, decided to appeal to a higher authority.

“Oh, God!” he cried. “I know in my heart that I am right and they are wrong! Please give me a sign to prove it to them!”

It was a beautiful, sunny day. As soon as the rabbi finished his prayer, a storm cloud moved across the sky above the four. It rumbled once and dissolved. “A sign from God! See, I’m right, I knew it!” But the other three disagreed, pointing out that storm clouds form on hot days.

The rabbi was getting ready to ask for a *very big* sign,
but just as he said, “Oh God...,” the sky turned pitch
black, the earth shook, and a deep, booming voice intoned,
“HEEEEEEEE’S RIIIIIIIGHT!”

The rabbi put his hands on his hips, turned to the other
three, and said, “Well?”

“So,” shrugged one of the other rabbis, “now it’s 3 to 2.”

You know, I’ve been hearing this, also - and if it’s true, I don’t know how I will feel about Palin... it will mean to me that, instead of getting into the fray, for herself or someone else, she sat it out, did her usual teases, and then waltzes in, not challenged in the debates or a season of primary campaigning... I don’t know... I really don’t like her playing around like this... and playing others... her supporters I am sure would love it... I didn’t like it the way she showed up in her bus during the summer at some pivotal points in the primaries for other candidates... I don’t really know what to make of her anymore...

Actually, I do argue that you need counseling now... and agree with Gator... And since Sanctimonium and his supporters are supposed to be so holy and so sanctified, and so much better than everybody else, you missed a perfect opportunity to demonstrate your superior self-righteous sanctimonious spirituality towards christie at the beach... just a thought...

Just what we need a guy who has been at Free Republic giving advice. Sheesh newbie you need to just observe before giving opinions. When Santorum wins, I guess you guys will be by your lights turning them on and off wondering what happened.

I don’t have a wife, I have a husband, Maybe someone who makes ASSumptions like you do, which are often, if not always totally wrong, should just observe and not give any opinions, especially when they’re almost always wrong... Oh, Gotta question for you, Sanctimonium said, “God told me to run.” Do you believe that, that’s all I want to know, yes or no? Do you believe what he said? Do you believe Rick Santorum when he says God told him to run?

For an atheist like yourself it probably is difficult for you to understand this but Santorum prayed to God to see if this is the direction he should go and obviously the answer is yes. You damn right I believe that God told him to run through prayer.

It is important to note here that Team Romney is still attacking Newt. NRO - which is an arm of the Romney campaign, is calling for Newt to get out, again. Drudge is still focused on Newt, and Team Romney is buying advertising time to attack Newt, starting in Michigan of all places.

Why would this be?

The answer is this: Romney knows that Super Tuesday can do a lot more for Newt than it can for Rick. Rick Santorum, even should he pull off some wins, will be in the unfortunate position of waiting to see if a few states assign him delegates later, which they are under no obligation to do because of his failed ballot access and delegate fielding. In the few places he is positioned to win, he will likely net very few delegates over his opponents.

On the other hand, Newt could net more than 70 delegates from Georgia alone. Mitt will sweep the NE states and take nearly all of their delegates. Newt would also benefit more from wins in the close states, since he would not have to beg to receive delegates later from a bunch of Romney supporters who are running the show.

Romney knows that Newt is still positioned to be the leader or close to the leader in delegates after Super Tuesday, and that is if he sees no bounce whatsoever for the next three weeks. Then there’s AL and Texas soon after.

Romney knows that Gingrich is his greatest threat.

If you are going to talk to people this way through a private mail, then you should be willing to do it out in the daylight...

Don’t ever post to me again, don’t ever send me another piece of mail. EVER. I am going to say it again, you have some real issues and you need some help with them.

Private mail from naps to me, a few minutes ago:

“You know you are a piece of crap. Nobody in their right mind would be so disgusting. You have only been on this site for a little more than a year and all you do is show off your stupid blog. You wife must be a Saint.”

This is from you both e-mail and for all to see and I don’t appreciate it either. Don’t you ever FREEPMAIL or post to me again. You obviously have only been here a short time and have a lot to learn about using the language you used. Hopefully after being here a couple more years you will learn how to talk with people.

That’s what I’ve suspected since nearly the beginning of the primary season. Romney/Santorum has always seemed a possible GOP-e ticket.

Kick the dust off your feet and do not let your heart be troubled. Some people really believe they are more special than the rest of God’s children.
