Pro-Romney Group Buys $500,000 In Michigan TV Ads (Newt Targeted)
NY Times ^ | February 13, 2012 | Jeremy W. Peters

Mitt Romney is getting some heavy air support in Michigan — the state where he was born and raised — as the “super PAC” supporting him invests almost $500,000 on television ads there.

According to someone who tracks Republican media spending, Restore Our Future has committed just over $470,000 for commercials starting Tuesday and set to run through Feb. 20. That marks the group’s largest purchase yet in Michigan, where it will have spent more than $700,000 on ads by next week.

The group said Monday that it would continue for now to run an ad called “Risk” that targets Newt Gingrich using images and attacks that have by now become familiar advertising fodder. It cites the proliferation of earmarks during his tenure as House speaker and shows a shot of him sitting with Nancy Pelosi on a couch in front of the Capitol, a shot taken from a public service announcement on global warming.

Foster Friess was on Geraldo last night. I have a friend who has a contact for him and I’m going to write and thank him for his support of Rick...he’s given tons to the campaign.

He is the perfect candidate with regards to issues.

thanks for the laugh -- lol. What a delusional statement. perfect? I looked carefully at Rick's record. Fiscally, he is a moderate liberal at best. Rick's instinct is to turn to the power of the State to solve problems.

Rick doesn't seem interested in our Founder's belief in "leaving people the h*ll alone as much as possible." Looking coldly at his record, he is a nanny state moderate.

I see it’s way over your pay grade to ‘get it’. You’re dismissed.

No, Romney wants to take Newt out before he turns his guns to Santorum. He doesn’t want to take out Santorum to have Newt rise again. He doesn’t want to play whack a mole anymore.

I believe it’s time to vet that side of Rick.
Better now than September.

He has been vetted. People bashed the death of his baby and how he dealt with it (can’t get lower than that). They said he brought some earmarks back to Pennsylvania. He endorsed Arlen. He endorse Romney. The bills that he voted for added some other stuff that he is getting blamed for.

That is it!!!! There is nothing left. Everyone is ok with these and understand how politics work. They were hoping that the death of his son was going to push him out of the race but that didn’t work those freaking vultures. Anyway, he has been fully vetted and nothing was found of major substance.

Actually they have already teamed up already but it’s meant to be hidden but it’s not for those who can’t be deceived.

Thanks for the clip of Slick Rick.

“I agree with you (talking to a caller), I think conservatism is in Santorum’s bodily fluids, and because of that he's able to articulate it without thinking about it.”

I guess Rush is too busy with Two if By Tea to look at Rick's actual record. I have studied Ricks moderate record. He's quite weak on the 2nd Amendment. His votes on the 2nd amendment alone indicates whatever is flowing through Rick, it isn't a deep respect for our Constitution.

Rush could not be more wrong.

Not sure about your corner of the world, but Newt (and Win the Future) have been HAMMERING Romney. Absolutely scathing ads against him.

Fiscally, he is a moderate liberal at best.

I don’t believe that but the important issues he is perfect on. For example he is the best at the pro-life issue. If you don’t believe me that I can’t help you. I think we will finally have that constitutional amendment. We cannot risk someone else who won’t go for this most important issue. We need to stop murdering the future Americans. If you don’t have a strong moral compass than nothing will get done. For example, Obama does not have a moral compass and you see he has raised our debt horribly. Now Santorum has a moral compass which will provide him the tools needed to ensure he does not raise the debt like Obama has done. Everything is intertwined. You need character and principles to be President for you to be successful.

I will not vote for Romney or Santorum.

I will vote for Newt Gingrich... or I will not vote at all.

Good luck with another 4 years of Obama.

Someone should run this video again, on national TV:

“My sons are all adults and they’ve made decisions about their careers and they’ve chosen not to serve in the military and active duty and I respect their decision in that regard. One of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping me get elected because they think I’d be a great president.” - Mitt Romney, 2007

Then the father with a son serving oversea told to Romney that he was offended with the comparaison made by Mitt between his sons (who chose not to serve and serve America by trying to get him elected) to his son and the other soldiers in Iraq. Mitt was listening to him smirking. One can almost see his disdain for the soldier’s father...

You are obviously a liberal because conservatives don’t talk like you do.

Please cool your anger. You seem to be getting way to emotional. Your response was a bit over the top in it's intensity. Please chill out.

Some people think Newt's a horrible candidate, that is fine. And some of us think that Rick is a horrible candidate. So be it.

Whoa, partner. This is the hugh Manatee. Obama will dump Biden and pick Romney for the VP slot. Mittens will swoon at the attention and accept; the MSM will have collective multiple orgasms for Dear Leader “reaching across the aisle in the spirit of bipartisanship.” [Now, I really am going to be sick.]

When this is over, you’re going to need counseling. Some might argue that you already need it.

Santorum doesn’t stand a snowballs chance in Hell of winning the presidency.

Most likely, we’re going to get stuck with another 4 years of Obama.... good luck.

Good points. Rick is excellent on the pro-life issue. I am in 100% agreement on that matter. We have been murdering millions of Americans through abortion -- it is an unspeakable horror.

My biggest gripe with Rick is that on Fiscal matters he is quite a disappointment. That said he would be a much better choice than Mitt or the Marxist.

Oh Gator,
You will vote for Santorum in the General (if it comes to that). He is closest to your values after Newt. There is nothing he has done for you not to vote for him in the General. I can understand you not voting for him during the primary but you cannot say why you wouldn’t vote for him in the general. Basically what you said about Santorum is that you don’t like his sweater vests and that he doesn’t look like what you want him to look like....none of those are reason for keeping your general vote for him.

There is no perfect candidate it's just Rick is the most conservative of those left.

I don't want to have to list all the many many horrible liberal mistakes Newt made and Mitt Romney IS a liberal mistake—and Paul is just a dang nut—they all have faults it's just that me, Rush, Mark Levin, Bill Cunningham, Michele Malkin and others see Santorum as the best choice.

That is why he is surging and will win.

And when you come to our state, Mr. Arbeitsziehungslager, we’ll never seen them, as we do not watch the so called “news” channels, or commercials, in our household.
