AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

Audrey Rowe is visiting schools all over the nation. “Everything we can do…to make food taste good,” Rowe told students at Elkhorn Middle School in Frankfort on Wednesday.

The USDA official from Washington, DC got a first-hand look…and taste of school lunches in Kentucky. “I think we can make it to where one day you’ll say ‘that lady was here and I like this food now.’ That’s what I’m working on,” she said.

Taylor Boggs ate lunch with Rowe, who’s worked directly with President Obama on school lunch legislation…

“Usually for students, if they don’t have a good lunch, sometime around mid-afternoon, they get sluggish, start having issues,” said Rowe, who says she visited the school in-between several meetings with officials in Kentucky.

Rowe says the bottom line is that school lunches today are going to be a lot different next year.

WASHINGTON, April 26, 2011 –Today, Agriculture Secretary Vilsack announced the start of the judging period in First Lady Michelle Obama’s Recipes for Healthy Kids competition. A judging team led by Audrey Rowe, Administrator of USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service visited a local school in Greeley today, kicking off visits to 15 semi-finalist schools around the nation. USDA and the First Lady launched the Recipes for Healthy Kids competition last September

USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service oversees the administration of 15 nutrition assistance programs, including the child nutrition programs. Improving child nutrition is also a focal point of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act that was signed in to law by President Obama in December 2010.

Also known as the ‘SEIU Cafeteria Workers Full Employment Act.’

This legislation authorizes USDA’s child nutrition programs, including the Summer Food Service Program and the National School Lunch Program, which serves nearly 32 million children each day. It will allow USDA, for the first time in over 30 years, the chance to make real reforms to the school lunch and breakfast programs by improving the critical nutrition and hunger safety net for millions of children. The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act is the legislative centerpiece of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Initiative.

I suspect the government uses an identical strategy for getting people hooked on "entitlement" programs as a crack dealer uses. Get the 'user-community' hooked at the beginning and we'll have a ready-made market forever.

“The hope is that once exposed to broccoli and pears and baked rather than fried foods, the students will keep eating it, and convince their parents to also.”

Michelle Obama’s ambassador hit New Haven with a pitch for more healthful school lunches. She encountered a tough customer or two.

http://www.newhavenindependent.org/images/sized/archives/upload/2010/05/audrey_and_rosa-350x263.JPG

The ambassador—Audrey Rowe, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s administrator for special nutrition programs—showed up at Barnard School with New Haven U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro Monday just in time for lunch.

Rowe (pictured above singing the praises of baked chicken to Barnard fifth-grader Nicole Celone) is touring the country pushing First Lady Michelle Obama’s healthful-food campaign to tackle child obesity.

Monday’s New Haven stop was a return visit for Rowe. In the 1990s she served as social services chief for New Haven’s first black mayor, John Daniels. She then went on to a state commissionership and a top spot at the National Urban League before taking her current position with the country’s first black president.

Rowe and DeLauro used the Barnard photo-op to argue for a reauthorized federal Child Nutrition Act that adds more whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and low-fat dairy products to school lunches; trains school food workers to make more healthful meals; steers more local farmers’ produce to school meals; and cuts the paperwork involved in adding poor children to free school-meal programs.

They chose the pre-K-8 Barnard Environmental Studies Interdistrict Magnet School because it and other New Haven schools already do what the Obama administration wants other schools to do: Serve lower-fat, lower-salt meals with more vegetables; and grow its own veggies in its own student-planted garden.

Rowe said that even when the more healthful food stares them in the face, the kids need encouragement to try it. Again and again. With some help, in the form of tasty recipes.

Rowe called elementary and middle schools “a good place to begin. [The students are] willing to try things.” The hope is that once exposed to broccoli and pears and baked rather than fried foods, the students will keep eating it, and convince their parents to also.

I heard that the replaced lunch resulted because the mother had not supplied a VEGETABLE. The school nazi then gave the child a complete chicken nugget lunch, but the child only ate a couple nuggets.

Mother said reason she did not supply a vegetable in the lunch is because her daughter doesn’t like vegetables, so the mother gives daughter vegetables for dinner, where she can watch her actually eating them.

This is going to be spun to say it was just a mistake in reporting and confusion about what happened. DHHS will lay low for a time and then begin their nazi lunch inspections again with a vengeance.

PS: Neither school nor DHHS will identify the agent.
~~~~~~~~~~
Just found this, which tends to confirm what I had heard. It is also the most complete anaylsis of incident I have seen in print (see last parag at bottom).
