NEW YORK (AP) -- Comedy Central's "Colbert Report" is off the air and it's a mystery why.

An expected live version of the show was replaced by a repeat on Wednesday. Comedy Central said Thursday's live show will be off, too.

The network said it was airing the repeats "due to unforeseen circumstances," but offered no other explanation.

I’m sure he’ll be back on after the arraignment. Well that is if the hooker recovers.

If he’s got some illness that makes him look all sickly and diseased, they should’ve just kept him on the air anyhow and pretended nothing was wrong. It’s working for Shep Smith.

You’ll see it quicker by setting “need to watch” for Feb.31, 2012!

My TV watching is pretty close to Zero - save for old movies and the XM Radio feature.

That said, I saw the episodes he did making fun of OWS - you know - when he interviewed “Ketchup.” I thought that one was pretty funny. He made the OWS kiddies look really foolish.

Isn’t that one of those shows liberals think is a news source?

Complex individual - married with 3 children who are not allowed to watch his show. From an Irish Catholic family. Seems like a guy who is making a living as a humorist and free thinking American. He declared as a Democrat in 2004 but the SC Dem Party contrived to prevent him from being on the 2008 Dem. primary ballot.

Colbert may very well be reaching maturity and becoming aware of our descent into hell.

Maybe a publicity stunt. Also, I heard he raised some $1 million for a PAC. Although him making even slight fun at Obama might do it.

David Letterman is quite respectful of Obama while trashing Republicans. He was especially negative about Bachmann and Cain and now is hysterical over Romney and repeats the same negative stuff about him, following the left’s talking points. Jay Leno also has respectful about Obama while trashing Republicans and has become abnormally obsessed with Newt and Romney.

“I’ve never seen an entire show. Am I missing anything?”

No, not really.

I like to think that I have a good sense of humor. On occasion, I can even laugh when a comedian pokes fun at a Republican.

But Colbert isn’t funny. I just fail to see any value to his show.

I’m leaning towards publicity stunt. If the show had been pulled due to an illness, arrest, rehab, or anything along those lines, it would be foolish to try to conceal it. TMZ or some other source would have the details within a day or two. If it were a contract dispute, the show’s producers would try to get out in front of the story by taking their case to the viewers.
