DEVINE, Texas -- Most middle school take-home permission slips are about field trips. But the one in Devine is asking if students can talk with federal investigators.
Although the population in Devine is 60 percent Hispanic, the middle school girls volleyball team is not.
Some of the girls' parents complained to the Department of Education about discrimination, alleging there is a large amount of white girls that make up the A team compared to the heavily Hispanic B team.
And it has this small town of 4,400 talking about racial disparity.
Next week the Department of Education is sending investigators to interview the girls who attended practice and tryouts.
So, the school's superintendent issued letters and permission slips asking seventh and eighth grade girls to meet with investigators to discuss whether they "experienced or witnessed any separation of students by race."
Ninth grade former volleyball A-teamer, Jodee Wofford, says all federal agents will discover is a fair program based on athleticism, grades, and desire.

Umm, volleyball players tend to be tall.
The school is foolishly wasting a valuable resource. You know if the Mexicans can jump a river, they can darn well jump a net.

Regarding the thread, I’m sick of the inequality in this country. I’m not talking about the hispanics not being able to get on the team (exactly the opposite, in fact). I’m talking about the disparity our government (and it’s agents), create for some groups and not for others. Do I believe that minorities miss out on opportunities offer to majorities, sure (that’s not always a white/black/whatever issue.), it’s a fact. However, Government seeks to favor certain groups over others politically in exchange for votes, pillaging from the majority, to give to minorities on both sides of the spectrum (Ie. stealing from the middle class, to give to the poor, and give contracts, bailouts, etc. to their political buddies).
If we had true equal justice under law, there wouldn’t be this disparity between the productive who have opportunities, and the productive who’s opportunities are given away in the name of “Equality” (which is in no way equal). The Government is in the business of “picking winners and losers” (as Herman Cain so eloquently put it).
Here’s an idea. Use school to teach, and let communities form their own teams with their own private funds. Better yet privatize all schools (or defund them all the way down till it’s at the local level) and let people do what they want. That’s what’s “Fair.”
Probably not, since they don’t (as far as I know), redistribute billions to pay for the NBA. Government wants a monetary hand in everything. Then they get the last word in everything. Which is exactly why government (with no Constitutional authority) should NOT be in the business of education.

They should let the “A” team play a game against the “B” team and see who wins.

Just one question.... If the B Team moves up to the A Team will the school have to foot the bill for their Day Care or are thay already doing that?
They are also typically shorter than their Caucasian counterparts.
When will they send the investigators to the NBA?

Anything you say can and WILL be used against you. If you do not tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth to them, you can be charged and convicted of lying to federal officials, which can carry a prison sentence. Just ask Martha Stewart.
They, the People there, are not answerable to federal investigators.
So would we be concerned if the basketball team of a mostly non-Eric Holder’s people school was composed only of Eric Holder’s people?
Being concerned about any team outside of being white would be racist.
The questioning would go like this,
Fed: Why are you a racist?
Fed: When have you ever not been a racist?
Fed: Have you renounced your KKK eligibility?
Fed: Where are you hiding your slaves?
Fed: Have your stopped using the words Black or Brown to describe certain colors?
Fed: Have you stopped using the word illegal?
