Democrats urge Boehner to "repudiate" comments by Limbaugh on contraception testimony

A group of Democratic members of Congress are continuing the political war over contraception and the latest move puts House Speaker John Boehner on the spot. Seventy-five lawmakers are urging the speaker to "repudiate" comments made by conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

The Democrats signed a letter to the speaker over comments Limbaugh made on his show on Wednesday calling a Georgetown University law student and women's health advocate a "prostitute" and a "slut" after her testimony before a mock Congressional hearing on birth control coverage.

Using the airwaves to launch a "direct attack on a private citizen is unacceptable," New York Rep. Louise Slaughter wrote to Speaker Boehner. "Mr. Limbaugh repeatedly used sexually charged, patently offensive, and obscene language to malign the character of this courageous young woman who has chosen to be the voice for many of her peers," the letter said.

Boehner's spokesperson declined to comment on on the letter.

I thought the Sandra Fluke story hilarious. And she IS a slut. Don’t all liberal women want to be sluts? Weren’t they born that way?

You've got to send that idea to Boehner's office.

He doesn't have the b*lls, but at least someone has to float the idea to him.

I know. My own gaydar went off. Except that high-pitched, whiny voice, she's quite masculine.

Who's her daddy? Another homosexual lawyer, maybe?

He should just say:

"Gentlemen, I am sorry that this young lady has forced Mr. Limbaugh to utter the truth about what she is. It is obvious that she is proud of her profession and it is unfortunate that she debased herself before Congress and exposed her nakedness before the whole world. So therefore, I feel no apology is in order.

Furthermore, her outragous testimony before Congress goes to real heart of what is wrong with America and proves to us that her education is a waste of money."

or something like that.

boner will not survive a frontal assault from Rush... Rush will not stand for bonehead's admonishment... and neither will his listeners. If it happens... maybe the TEA Party will demand boner resign if he does not apologize personally to Rush. This could be a way to banish boner... pos liberal that he is.

They were upset about Wednesday’s broadcast? lol, Rush doubled-down on today’s show. I think yesterday, he took back the “slut” comment, and used “round-heeled” instead.

Hey Louise, isn’t what YOU are doing here a “direct attack
on a private citizen”. A man who has chosen to be the
voice of many of his peers.

Here we have a “congress woman” using the power of her
position to slam a private citizen for using free speech
and attempting to coerce another congress man to become
involved in something that is not in any way his
responsibility.

The GOP may, because the perception is that all Republicans want to ban birth control.

If all the Democrats have to do is tell a lie and we are screwed, then why not just give up and go away?

It would be the honest thing for you to do, since you seem unwilling to fight for the truth.

I hope this is a rebirth for Rush. After he got in trouble, he became a total Bushbot shill. But, he's totally right on this and I was cheering him in the car for the first time in many years.

Did you hear him last week replaying his Sacramento bit on the backwards Satanic messages? That man used to be seriously talented and I hope he goes back to it, rather than the GOP hack he's been for the past 8 years or so.

Politics is like sales. The sizzle goes farther than the meat. And if you don’t think the GOP isn’t trying to weasel out of this you would be silly.

For me, I wish they would take a stand. But let’s face it that would lose the mush headed independents who want to be nice and easy.

I would trade a nice GOP for a one that actually stood up and lead for once.

A private citizen? Bull-loney

That slut gave up her rights to privacy the minute she appeared before Congress to announce what a slut she was as she needed $3,000 for birth control.

Don’t do it, Boehner. Rush is right. And since when does the left and the liberal media miss any opportunity to go after private citizens who happen to disagree with or challenge their positions in a public forum?
