Even for a vanity, this is pathetic. You should at least spend a couple of paragraphs constructing an argument, if you can.

DON’T PICK RICK!!

If Santorum wins the nomination (God forbid), Obama wins four more years on that very day.

This is not just about electing a president, this is about the very survival of our country.

I agree with post #2. I will be at the caucus, but as of tonight I still consider myself an undecided, and will follow my best judgment and my heart when I fill in the name tomorrow. You need to be selling me on why I and others should pick Santorum and not assume we are going there to vote for him.

This is not the time to try and stop Rick. For God’s sake, what do you think we’ll get if we don’t get the vote out for Santorum in Washington. Romney, that’s what! You won’t even have a chance to campaign for Newt, it will be Romney.

Get out and vote for Rick, guys. Stop Romney!

I’m with you! I will be going tomorrow and really trying to evaluate the candidates before I cast a vote. As of now, I’m leaning Gingrinch because I think he’s the only one with bold enough ideas to challenge Obama and win.

Santorum is very earnest but I don’t feel like he’s quite ready for prime time and I don’t like the way that he went after Newt instead of Obama in the debates - I can’t quite shake the feeling that he’s really auditioning for VP for Romney.

I think that Romney has dangled the VP carrot out to Rick as well as to Rand Paul in order to keep Santorum and Ron Paul in the race to divert votes away from Gingrinch. If it were between the two of them, I believe that Newt would easily get the nomination and Romney knows it. It feels sneaky and is just one of the many things about Mittens that I don’t like!

I stand with Newt.

The survival of this country is important to me. I want a real leader, not a preacher I could go to church with.

What I’d love to see is a two-man race between Santorum and Gingrich. Then we’ll see who’s ready for prime-time, who can win over the voters enough for a victory, and so on. My mind has changed several times this primary season and may change yet again.

But the only way to have that contest is to stop Romney now. I’m not a big strategist but the media and GOPe are pushing the narrative that Romney has the wind at his back, big mo, whatever. And every race he wins, big or small, is going to help them with that game.

Vote Rick in Washington and stop Romney.

There are a variety of lists that people have made about reasons to support Rick Santorum. No one lists includes all of the good reasons, but here is one by Antoninus (scroll down) that is somewhat representative of some of the reasons for supporting him:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2825567/posts

I have followed Rick Santorum for years. I have been supporting him financially since last summer. Although there are many reasons to support him, the clincher for me is that he has held firm in the culture war while almost all others were running for cover. His convictions have cost him. His kids can’t even google their last name without humiliation.

I have never believed that Rick is in this for power or to be Romney’s VP or for any of the myriads of other reasons that are sometimes mentioned. I believe that he is in it for far deeper reasons. He has taken the arrows. He has held firm when it would have been much easier to run.

I decided long ago not to hold my nose this election cycle. I voted for him last week. I’ve been proud of him. Still am.

I’m not opposed at all to Newt. I simply prefer Rick. I think that Newt doesn’t have a real shot. I think that it’s down to Rick and Romney. If Romney wins the nomination, he still won’t have my vote. He still would be driving the handbasket to Hell—perhaps more slowly, but still in a straight line path.

Consider Rick tomorrow. Thanks!

If everyone that was planning to vote for Dullard votes for Newt instead, Romney will be stopped in his tracks.

Santorum is a big-government panderer who was so incompetent he couldn’t even win re-election to the Senate. 51 times he sponsored bills to INCREASE spending and he NEVER sponsored any bill to REDUCE spending. Newt, on the other hand, balanced the budget and successfully reformed the welfare system. Nancy Reagan says “Ronnie passed the torch to Newt ...” and his record clearly shows it.

Santorum’s record, not so much. He should pull out now for the good of the part before he embarrasses us further.

In an open caucus state either Santorum or Paul will win.

Either way, no credence should be given.

You know Newt is certainly not without his warts yet I don’t see anyone trumpeting his flaws or mistakes. Nor do I see anyone on this board branding him a liberal for global warming or the individual mandate or constantly spinning Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae.

Yet you feel driven to insult Santorum and brand him according to your opinions. Not helpful to the process. We have got to get behind our guys and beat Obama in the fall.

Look at the Conservatives that are supporting Newt and Santorum then weigh their strengths and their accomplishments and make your best judgment.

Either way, no credence should be given.

Mariner,
I think you are great, but come on. According to you the only states that have credence are SC and Georgia. That is just plain ridiculous. Seriously, Newt is going to have to win more than Georgia on Tuesday to stay in the race. He needs to win at least 4. If he does not he needs to get out. I say the same for Santorum. However, Santorum has four states locked up. Newt has ONE.

I’m on my knees begging you to vote for Newt because he is the only man in the running now who has the experience, intelligence, and political skill to beat Obama and to get a handle on the things that are bringing this country down. He has a plan already in place to go on the first day. I have not heard any plan from the other two. It’s nice to be against this or that policy, but what are they going to do about it? Neither has the skill to defeat the machine. Newt has done it before. He must win or the country goes down. I’m old enough to know how things go.

Please vote for Newt. We must get him enough delegates to keep him in the game until Texas.
