As the Rush Limbaugh show became embroiled in
Rush Limbaugh's attacks on a female college student are scaring off advertisers. controversy Friday, Cleveland Cavalier's owner Dan Gilbert made a hasty exit, declaring his company would no longer support the talk-radio host with advertising dollars.
Gilbert announced via his Twitter account that Quicken Loans Inc. was pulling its ads from the show in protest over Limbaugh's verbal attacks on a female college student.
"Due to Rush Limbaugh's inflammatory comments along w/valuable feedback from our clients & staff, Quicken Loans has suspended ads on his show," according to a 4:09 p.m. Tweet attributed to Gilbert.

IMO Select Comfort is a terrible mattress. My husband got one and I hate it. Besides the fact that it isn’t a good mattress, it’s hot. It’s now relegated to the mountain cabin.
Have you checked out a latex mattress? I had a latex mattress in the past, it was second hand and old when I got it, and it was the best mattress I’ve EVER had.

I printed this out for him and posted it in the deer cabin (yeah he hunts deer....his only vice...in his mind I suppose) we hunt in, I first saw posted in a Archery hunting store.
My son sent me to overstock.com and I bought a topper for my mattress instead of buying the whole new mattress..Its foam and I love it. I rarely toss and turn during sleep and wake up in the same position I went to sleep in...The foam is about 4 inches thick and goes back to it original shape when I get up out of bed...don’t remember the name of it, but is a brand name...cost 149.00 dollars.
We have a Sealy that is super comfortable. Don’t remember the model. The bed can raise the head or foot like a hospital bed, and has vibration. Feels really good.

No one at Quicken will mourn the loss of Rush. Business is business. You can’t push the envelope by offending your sponsors. No one knows that better than Rush who built his empire by pleasing his sponsors. He didn’t mean to go this far, but too far he went. He’ll have to humiliate himself in public with an apology in hopes he can salvage something. Rush believes himself, as does Levin, to be a king maker. They now believe they can say anything about and to anyone....even to and about our own guys. That free fall hurts .

C'mon, a $1,000 a year in contraception?? At one of the most expensive and prestigious law schools in the country!!???? The only way she is going through that much is if she walks around the campus naked with a sign around her neck that says "Do Me"!!
This is carefully manufactured "outrage" and most DBM (disingenuous, biased media) outlets have edited the story to make it appear that Rush called ALL women sluts - he didn't!
Sex between 2 people is their business and their responsibility. Just as I don't expect the rest of America to pay for my medical needs, Ms. Fluke and other men and women shouldn't expect the rest of America to buy their contraceptives (be they pills or condoms).
But, since we are going to disagree about this, allow me to add this story. There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day, while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime. In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"
The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said that it was no joke. "You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity." The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America.
The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. While we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time.
One should always remember two truths: There is no such thing as a free lunch and you can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself. If you see that all of this wonderful government 'help' is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America , you might want to send this story to your friends. If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life, then ignore this story. But God help you when the gate slams shut!

I agree with you. It was a set up...but it was transparent. Why did Rush go there? The point is Rush made the point without the slut reference.

What advertisers will do is evaluate their demographics versus a captured audience of 20 million listeners each day. A few people being pi$$ed at Rush - 20 million listeners.
Trust me, they'll go with the 20 million.
I wil also give you odds that many of these advertisers will quietly come back to sponsor Rush's show when they see the impact that NOT having access to those 20 million listeners has on their revenues. Because, at the end of the day, the revenue they get from Rush's listeners spends just as well as the revenue they get from Err America.

Rush won’t go dark. He’ll always find a way. He said as much when the government was looming. I, for one, enjoy the company he keeps. I admire him for the sponsors he’s brought on board over the years. To Rush, it elevates his message when these people advertise on his show. If they were “idiots” as you say, Rush wouldn’t care. If you think he isn’t a little worried, why would he apologize so quickly? I’m sure other talk show hosts told him they can’t risk defending him on this issue. Funny. He was spot on without going to the slut talk. I’m not going to beat this thing to
death. As far as “Err America”. What a joke that was.
Before I comment (and humble myself further), I want to see exactly what Rush said. I have heard vis my local DBM outlet that he apologized and I want to see a video or read a transcript. The disingenuous, biased media (DBM) misreported what he originally said and broadened it to a slur against all women which is not what he did.
So, not trusting them at all, I am going looking for some different information and find out what he said.
