Citrix drops Rush sponsorship
Citrix Facebook ^ | March 2, 2012 | Brett Caine SVP GM

Posted on 03/03/2012 9:00:22 AM PST by Leroy S. Mort

Over the past day, we’ve heard from many great Citrix customers about our advertising on The Rush Limbaugh Show. These customers have expressed their growing concern that some of his recent comments seem inconsistent with the core values Citrix has always stood for – humility, integrity and respect.

While Citrix obviously does not control any show’s content or endorse opinions of their hosts, we do take the concerns of our customers seriously. When they are upset about something, we listen. After careful consideration, we have decided to discontinue our advertising on The Rush Limbaugh Show.

Sincerely,

Brett Caine

SVP and GM, Online Services Division

I totally agree...but the time to get organized as well as the Dems are is now here. It is crucial that we become AS organized and well-informed as they are.

All we need is a proven leader and effective organizer (gads, I kind of hate that word now). I wish Rush would step up to that plate. Or someone equally as effective.

Let’s pray that we get the leader that we need at this critical time in our lives and US history.

I have site-to-site VPNs setup between my router and those of several friends and family members. I believe we’re up to 8 now. We all share network resources across our respective broadband connections like we’re all in the same house, it’s pretty neat.

We use DD-WRT firmware on our routers (dd-wrt.com). It’s a binary replacement for the stock interface software on popular routers. We use Linksys E3000 series routers since they’re dual-band N wireless and gigabit wired interface, and the DD-WRT firmware just screams.

Go to DD-WRT.com and check out the wiki. They have a step-by-step configuration walkthrough for setting up site-to-site VPNs, if you’re looking for that sort of thing.

For remote system consoles, if you need it for troubleshooting, MSTS works well enough and comes stock in Windows operating systems. I have a uEFI remote console hardware link on my motherboard that allows me to get into my system remotely if it’s not responding, and I use HP servers here in the house and have the hardware-level iLO for console access.

Ironic, since.....

Rush’s Two If By Tea is now in competion with Snapple...and is making Snapple look like cheap kool aid (Obama kool aid), by comparison now...hehe.

Ditto that!

Good riddance...

I will never use any product that is associated with idiot cowards influenced by a campaign run by CHEAP liberals who have never and will never use their products.

I use DD-WRT on a an old link-sys wireless router. Any tips for setting up the remote access? I would like to access my desktop while out in the field.

Yeah, ideology can often get in the way of sound business decisions, especially when it comes to the left. Still, it’s a free country, if they want to give up a bunch of revenue just to avoid the “taint” of Limbaugh on their brand, so be it. There are plenty of other companies who will gladly step in to buy those prime ad slots.

Here’s my comment to them on their facebook page:

“Out goes CITRIX from my stock portfolio Monday morning. You wimps who bend over and grab your ankles every time the deranged Left has another cow about something, have no idea what a buzz saw you’ve stepped into now.”

I also “liked” all the comments that were made against them there, too.

In Breitbart’s memory, get on the stick everyone! Go do the same. Let them feel the buzz saw. Spread this to all your friends, twitter, email lists, and facebook pages. bttt

If you have a static IP, you can setup your router as a VPN listener and use one of the many open-source VPN options on SourceForge (sourceforge.net). I personally use OpenVPN.

If you don’t have a static IP, use the DDNS setup page in DD-WRT and create a free DDNS account on one of the supported providers.

When you’re out in the field, it’s just a matter of firing up OpenVPN, tunnel to your home network, and it’s like you’re in your house. Either TS into your desktop (assuming you use Windows) or invest in a console card for your PC like a Dell DRAC or an older HP rILO board, depending on your level of remote access need. If your PC supports wake on LAN, you can set it up to turn on whenever you need to access it, in the event it’s turned off.

Was gonna drop my subscription and try out Beck for a while, before this incident. Now....I’m sticking with Rush probably forever.

I'm also a subscriber, and will remain so for as long as I can afford to. Love Rush! Beck is just too much "gloom and doom" for me. There has to be something good happening in the world, but when I listen to him I'm hard pressed to hear anything positive.

Thanks MarkL, I remember when he was no longer talking about Snapple, and I wondered if, in fact, he either dumped them or now, as you point out, they dropped him. That’s a shame cause no one, IMO, was as good as Rush in hawking for a sponser. He literally made me believe he loved Snapple, and I’m sure, at that time, he did.

Funniest part is, now Rush is competing against them directly.

I know, and although I've not tried it, I hear it's a far superior product.

Forget Citrix, folks.

Use VMware for virtualization.

Yes, but Beck is a different kind of informer. His message is less about show biz and ratings and making outrageous comments...and more about informing folks about the dire situation we are now in, thanks to leftists running the country into the ground.

Beck has his purpose just as Rush does. I love BOTH of them, but can only afford to subscribe to ONE right now.

I choose Rush. Maybe later this year I’ll be able to afford both. Have to wait and see.

I plan to try to meet Beck in person some day...hopefully soon, since he is now living in my neck of the woods.

Don’t take this the wrong way because it is not personal but... you just demonstrated the problem. You agree what WE need to do but you aren’t doing anything about it (neither am I). You are waiting for someone else to “step up to that plate.”

A good communist Democrat would have jumped at the opportunity to be a part of a huge movement and take a grassroots leadership role. Conservatives just aren’t wired that way. That is the primary reason Democrats have shifted the American culture to the point it is unrecognizable from what it was just a generation ago. They seize every opportunity to organize a call to action. Conservatives are much better at just grumbling to each other and lamenting the past.

One small correction to what you said: “...well-informed as they are” We are much better informed. They are idiots that just happen to excel in pushing their agenda.
