But my district is notoriously left of center.

Correction, your STATE is notoriously left of center.

Isn’t it strange? NOBODY has ever found a person who’s voting Romney.

Mitty generates all the enthusiasm of a mid Sept baseball game between two teams 20 games out of 1st place.

What county are you in?

We have a bit of a report building at the state page. I'll ping the list...

WA Ping

From: 3 precincts in Jefferson County:

My 3 precinct rural caucus was well attended. We ran out of sign in sheets and platform surveys. More than 1/2 were first timers and there were a lot of young people. I think that’s a good sign for our potential at getting rid of Obama.

The platform with a heavy emphasis on property rights, traditional marriage and the economy was approved overwhelmingly.

I don’t have the exact numbers, but with about 130 people in the room Romney was probably at about 45% followed by Gingrich with maybe 30%, Santorum around 20% and a few for Paul.

Caucuses are hectic by nature. A lot of people who didn’t understand the process seemed to think we were going to arrive at a consensus and see the results on TV tonight. They didn’t realize that this was a Presidential Straw poll and not a primary ballot, or that we still have county and state conventions to go. Most of the 12 delegates we elected voiced a preference for Romney. I think we had 3 for Newt and one each for Rick and Ron.

Location: So. King County

My Table which sat 2 precincts had 11 people.

The vote tally was:
Romney 7
Santorum 1
Paul 1 ( a young kid)
Undecided 2
Newt 0

Despite the gauntlet of Ron Paul signs we had to drive through going into the caucus location, their voting numbers were very tiny. The number of people was unbelievable. I have been going to these things for the last three Presidential elections and this was the largest yet. Lots of first timers. Of my table of 11, all but me were first timers.
I’m not sure what gives with the 2 undecided votes. Why give up a beautiful Saturday morning to go vote for nobody?

Heavy turnout at my caucus. Combining 26 precincts, there were easily a thousand people there. My precinct was about 50% Romney, with Santorum about 30%. RuPaul had maybe 15% and Gingrich 5%.

I skipped my caucus this year, as the last time I went nothing seemed to have gotten accomplished. Also I was supposed to do some work on our community well house with one of our LDS neighbor teens. They are always home on Saturdays doing chores since they won’t do them on Sunday. When I knocked on their door at 11 AM, no one was home. Hmmmmm...coincidence.....or is that evidence of a Mittens conspiracy theory. Cause NO ONE I’ve talked with here has admitted to being a Mittens supporter.

I’m in south King County. The caucas was held in a high school gym. The place was PACKED. There were easily several hundred people there, most were first timers.

There were 6 people at my table. 4 votes for Newt, 1 for Rick Santorum and 1 for Ron Paul. We were told results would be released at 5pm.

“Isn’t it strange? NOBODY has ever found a person who’s voting Romney.”

Found 7 at my table of 11 who did vote for Romney. You have to face facts. The vast majority of Republicans attending these things and that will be voting in November are not posting on Free Republic or other Conservative forums. Too many of you get the wrong perception of what a Republican voter is, just because 95% of Freepers favor anyone but Mitt. Then when Mitt wins you think it must have been fixed because it's not reflective of what you read here.

If it’s Mitt vs. Baraq, Mitt’s got my vote.

I’ll take Mormon over Muzzie any day.

But I have to say my participation in the election will be a lot more tepid than it would be if it had been Cain, Newt, or Ricky Sweatervest.

A reporter came to our precinct table saying he had gone around the room of about 400 people and could not find anyone for Romney.

I just got back from my caucus - East King County, District 8

The place was PACKED! Not sure how many were there, but they said they were expecting about 250 and there was well more than that (maybe 4-500?). We were in the school cafeteria and they had to move some of the precints to the gym. The parking lot was overflowing and cars were parked way down the line on side streets.

There were 13 at my table: 2 for Newt (1 was me), 5 for Paul, 3 Romney, 3 Santorum
I’m going to be a delegate to the county caucus at the end of the month.

Everyone was in a pretty good mood. We had a good discussion at our table about the candidates, but we didn’t discuss the issues on the sheet per se, we just all filled in our own platform sheets and passed them in.

One thing I thought was interesting was that there was a table set up in the room (not far from where people came in) with a couple of Ron Paul yard signs propped up and brochures, etc. There were about 3 people back there w Paul buttons on. As I was leaving w 1 of the guys I met, I said, I’m surprised this table is here, I know that it’s not allowed at voting places. The woman at the table turned around at said, well, it is allowed at caucus locations.

David, Bose(sp), a local conservative radio host, said on the radio that there was a line to get in his caucus location. I think there may have been a fairly large turnout today. A few people I spoke with had never been to a caucus before, so I felt somewhat encouraged.

Did anyone else hear about a fake robocall using the King County GOP caller ID and announcing that today’s caucus’s had been postponed?

I think you’re probably correct. The 3 at my table that were for Mitt really felt he would be great - could fix the economy, he was a conservative (I was trying to be respectful, so didn’t say - Are you kidding me???). Someone said he had a great organization and I agreed and added, but he should, he’s been running for 5 years ;-) I mentioned that because he had been running so long and was expected to win, the Obama Chicago-machine had time to dig things up on him and would be using it, then, there’s the matter of Romneycare.
Most at our table agreed with me that Newt was smart and articulate and would wipe the floor with Obama in a debate, but alas they voted for others.
