It may come as a surprise to you but there are Natural Gas metro buses and have been for a long time.

The issue with moving 18 wheelers to Natural Gas is range and power. For buses that have a fixed loop, it's not much of a concern. An 18 wheeler isn't going to get far, fast or efficiently. Long haul doesn't seem an option.

According to a 2011 article, UPS used millions in stimulus dollars to buy a few but won't buy more without subsidies.

I think there are fewer derogatory remarks about Romney on this board than Santorum

That's because everyone knows Romney's more than a jerk. Santorum still has people fooled...

What you’re missing Kenny is Santorum cannot beat Obama ...he's been all over the map and has hardly adjusted to his new found fame...he simply isn't seasoned for the job or facing Obama.

Look you've got a ‘Senator’ who knew running for Pres. would be advantageous for his political career path...he never thought he'd come this far and certainly wasn't prepared for it. What makes you even imagine he's prepared to run this country, move a congress who he has very few supporting him, take on the Obama Machine who hasn't even begun to cut loose on him, and somehow go up against the formidable debate Bo's team will have for BO to deliver.

Santorum can't do the job ahead...he's not prepared and his hype we see is trying somehow to show that he is...

There's only one man that has the possibility of beating obama, the republican elites, liberals and move the congress...and with a plan he knows how to activate..and that's Newt...there simply is no other.

Santorum has a political career ahead of him no matter the outcome so he's going to play this to his advantage. Newt has nothing to loose...this is His time.

Rick reminds me of a kid in our school. He NEVER did his home work...read the material...But if he got a chance to answer a question he could BS for half the class period on absolutely nothing....

That's a great analogy....he's bitten off far more than he can chew with all the info his team is shoving at him to make him appear to know what he doesn't know.

now you'll hear in this forum that Santorum brings it on himself.

Well that is pretty obvious. The more I hear Santorum the more I'm fully convinced the man wasn't in this to win...no clue he would come this far and now trying to catch up on what he needs to know to carry the ball to the end zone. That's why he's not making a good delivery, he's having to learn new material he doesn't know in order to appear as if he does.

so I think you are saying you want to knock on a door, hand them something, yet undefined, and then start a chat with them about Newt... and have enuf info at your fingertips to answer most of their questions, which is pretty much what I do... either door to door, or through the phones.

Yes and you are brave. okay. so more specifically you want to say something to the effect, hi, I wondered if I could talk to you about Newt Gingrich, he's running for President. I have a little flyer here you might be interested in, and it outlines some of Newt's important positions. If you're busy, I can leave a few things with you to read about Newt, and maybe we can talk later. Is that about your foot in the door approach? maybe you are a little more genteel than me:)

So then what should the handout be? You know your state, your town, your neighborhood, what would speak to them most strongly about Newt? One subject, two, three? some people take their laptops with a favorite newt video loaded, and just stand there while the person watches the video, maybe about 3 min, there are millions to choose from... and a vid can really be effective..

I don't have a laptop, I wish I did. I have a kindle. ha! What do I want to say? What is most important? I suppose being prepared for the answers to a pushed and warped portrait of Gingrich. I think I am ready on the moon carp, I am ready on the personal baggage line, I am ready on not serving his county line. I need a better and comfortable spot to refute the house charges. He was found innocent but I don't have a much better come-back than that>/i>

1) if they say they do support Newt, and this is the first time they've been contacted by the campaign, then you need to maybe have a little Newt Pack you can give them. They are already interested, and they can probably handle a few flyers or information sets as the initial resistance won't be there. This could be all positive stuff, since they already support him. You can go over stuff with them on the spot, or offer your phone number so they can call you back. What is best, usually,is asking them if it's okay to call them in a few days to get some feedback from them. Get their permission right then and there to call them back since they might not get back to you. If they want to talk right there on the spot, that is, of course, the best thing of all.

2)And if their is response is yes, I've been wanting to get involved, then have all your newt.org links, and groups, and places to go ready to hand them..

3) If they are not interested or negative... then you could say something like, well, there's been so much negative advertising, and so much media bias, we are just trying to get the facts out about Newt, so people can read and make judgments for themselves based on facts... Would you mind if I left you some reading materials, and then follow up with you in the next few days in case you have any questions? Or we could talk now if you have the time. What particularly concerns you about Newt?

I think if it is lively you can get most people through three short paragraphs... but it has to be bright and easy-to-read... Newt has changed the campaign to his 2.50 gas branding, and a lot of people are attributing that to his rise in the national polls starting again...

That is the problem, we can't just drop off a flyer, we need to engage folk. I think his 2.50 gas message is fantastic and resonates. His gear is a pain to find. It shouldn't be. I want him to win more than anything. Okay, well I can look at the gear problems and see what's going on there, they just did a major overhaul to the entire site that finished less than 24 hours ago. So there are probably still glitches.

a phone script sounds like it might be good for you... you get to pick your state, you get a script, and little by little, after maybe the first couple days, you get some confidence and start adlibbing, and your personality starts to shine through. There were 150,000 phone bank calls made in to SC... and Newt felt strongly they were game changers of a sort...

I tried a couple of times to go to the link you provided and it gave me a 4oh4 and I couldn't find a phone bank volunteer link on Gingrich page. The call center closes at 9 pm Eastern and sometimes earlier on the weekends, but it was upgraded too and may be having its own glitches... I have to check on it first thing in the morning for several people who have had problems, so I will send you a private reply post and let you know if it's back online..

Maybe these few thoughts will be a jumping off point for you... and you can move ahead on your own, or if you need anything from me, please don’t hesitate...

I follow your posts and admire your work and thoughts. I hope you don't take my feedback as negative because I want more than anything for Gingrich to be president. We deserve nothing less--he is the best.

Not at all, you need to have something to work with that you are comfortable with and suits you and your temperament, and your abilities and personality... so this is a little more input toward that design...

I laid out 3 scenarios... which, from my experience, occur most regularly.

People are not against Newt, so they say they support him - but really don't know anything about him - maybe saw one speech or one appearance. So they need to be inspired motivated and bought on board... with positive stuff - from conversations to videos to flyers - to further inspire and motivate them.

The people who are itching to start working right now - don't need so much persuading, they are just energy that needs to be pointed to the campaign, who will get them up and going... and they will probably find soulmates there.

And the negative people, who you will have to cultivate. Maybe with something like, why don't you tell me what turns you off about Newt or the main reason you don't support him right now? And then they will let you know what you need to address in their case.

These are the scenarios I anticipate. You might want to think about them, picture them in your head, and decide how you would like to respond to them... talk, video, house visit, flyers, whatever... picture them in your head, and play with ideas, and once you get that clear, then I can help you get your tools together... the campaign actually has a toolkit, which, depending on your choices, might have stuff already geared for how you want to proceed..

I wrote a lot, but I won't be around till late tomorrow, and hopefully, you might have time to think about it a little. the more You customize with things you are comfortable with and prefer, the better you will do, and the more people will respond to you positively, and that will be better for the campaign. So don't be bashful, if you have a specific thing, idea or tool you would like to have or develop, just speak up, I'm sure it's out there somewhere...

Let me know how I can help. It's your campaign, you are the campaign manager, in this case I am the worker... you just have to be clear how you would like me to help...

Gnight... and hope this helped...

It was awful when he brought his whole family out on stage at CPAC and had them stand there through the entire speech. It would be fine if he just brought them out at the end when he was done like Palin did at the convention. But just imagine how awkward and pandering it would have looked if Palin had her family standing on either side of her while she gave the entire speech? If you’re too weak to stand on your own to even give a speech without propping yourself up with manipulative imagery then you’re obviously too weak to be an effective president.

Romney was sickeningly stiff, awkward and insincere in his supposedly “emotional” answer that Romney Election Headquarters, I mean FOX News effusively praised as a defining moment in his campaign. They clearly got a renewed memo from the RNC to reintroduce the Romney inevitability meme in full force. Romney reminded me of Mr. Burns on The Simpsons when he was forced to try to smile for something. Mr. Burns’ face could barely move into that position and almost seemed to breaking and cracking as he tried. Maybe it was Botox that left Romney’s face looking so stiff and unmalleable, but his eyes seemed creepily dead too. You can just tell this guy has the soul of a socialist who views people as “units” in a machine to be ground up and spit out, one that he believes he can control for the “greater good.”

It was truly pathetic how Romney relied on platitudes and then refused to answer the question from the man whose son died in Iraq about whether he would increase benefits for veterans. Romney simply prattled on with vague platitudes and never answered the question.

It was absolutely disgusting when one of the FOX Mittbots said Romney was the candidate who could be at least acceptable to all Republicans. And then when they claimed he didn’t need conservative support now or support from Southern states, because they would all automatically support him in the Fall. It’s these kind of statements that tell me we actually need to vote for a third party in the fall if Romney is the nominee in order to teach these people a lesson that conservatives cannot be taken for granted.

Romney is actually a better communicator than Santorum. Santorum was flirting with some potentially good points, but totally missed the mark several times by not giving the right background information and not hitting home key points. If you’re an educated conservative, you could infer what he was getting at, but if you’re Joe Q. Public you’re not going to know what he was talking about and either zone out or just think he was BS’ing. The questioner who praised Santorum at the end actually inserted terms and explanations into Santorum’s answer that Santorum never said himself. The version of the answer he gave was better than Santorum’s but he gave Santorum credit for stuff he didn’t say.

Romney is getting better at BS’ing and becoming more Clintonian, which is dangerous. He’s becoming a better campaigner, and obviously more talented than Santorum, who has no chance to defeat Romney in the primary now. It was sickening how Romney multiple times referred to what the polls or the American people would say when justifying his policies, even on policies which should stand solely on moral ground like supporting the troops. It shows how dangerously Clintonian he is, that he will enact whatever policies are popular with the public on any given day.

Newt was solid as usual, with quality, substantive answers. He got some bad questions though. A couple times people clearly seemed to be reciting a prepared question, even though Newt’s earlier answers were so detailed that they already covered that ground. So his time was spent on some redundant points. What a dumb question asking him how he could say gas would be “exactly” $2.50, as if anyone with a clue couldn’t figure out that is just a ballpark figure.

How about this one...”some businesses would love to pay taxes.”

Big bureau and government contractors know their being used by the Undocumented one, which made for all the Arbeitsziehungslager Bribes to get passed

So now they’re hoisting their Massachusetts Taxman. (And shove their programs down the states throats, especially Arbeitsziehungslager )

Notice there is never a “Pay-to Play” question, always make to play.

And “cuts”? We’re suppose to grow our way to support the Big Federal Privledge Ones, The Arbeitsziehungslager Exempt Ones.

These are the kind of people who would, if gas became $2.60 under a Newt administration, point fingers and wail that...waaaaahhhhhh...he broke his promise.

They don’t even give a rip what gas is now under Obama and what it is on it’s way to being.

They make so much money, or their company gives them free rides to and from work, that they don’t care.

No wonder they are for Romney.

Rick Perry said it, seems like ages ago now, in the first debate I believe, or second...somewhere near the start but people only saw and heard the glitches...THAT WE DON’T NEED OBAMA LITE.

That is who these people want.

Yes, the questions and question-askers were pretty disappointing. I got absolutely nothing out of the experience. But that’s how you kill a candidate with good ideas. You don’t give him the chance to shine.

Newt shines whenever he gets a chance to speak. Santorum is just unprepared. He wants to run the country but he can’t even run a campaign (see Virginia and Ohio).
