Mozy, not Mozi.

Just don't entrust your valuable data to Mozzy. There's no telling what he and Neal Caffrey might do with it... /g

On a serious note, while there are some valid reasons to use these online storage services, e.g. convenience, people need to keep in mind that there are also caveats and vulnerabilities to consider. For example, the assumption that online access will always be available to them is dangerously naive.

In a time of emergency, natural disaster, terrorist attack or simply arbitrary government fiat, access to your data may frozen or impossible. In addition, if a company's servers are hacked your data is vulnerable, and likewise if you or your company somehow makes it onto some "alphabet agency's" enemies list. In the event of some sort of declared national "state of emergency" there's no guarantee of even having internet service "privileges".

Secondly, for most people, it's more secure and cost effective to buy your own external hard drive backups. You can buy two or three drives, or even a RAID NAS (Network Attached Storage) unit for much less than the subscription fees for online storage.

Finally, it's not just data that needs to be backed up. You really need bootable image backups of your whole hard drives, operating system, applications and settings, and they need to be accessible in case of complete system failure. Having those on external hard drives in your possession is far more logical and practical than trusting you'll be able to retrieve them online in the event of an emergency.

The bottom line for me is that there's nothing wrong with using these types of services for convenience if your security requirements permit, but it would be extremely dangerous to rely on them solely.

I always park my Jeep in those electric only spaces. What, they going to tow my car while I shop in their store? It is nothing more than a symbol for the earth worshippers that they care. I would love to get into that discussion.

After reading that statement, I wish with all my heart that 50% of Carbonite users would switch to Mozy and tell them why.

That was a totally sickening statement.

First of all, I think is a sign of the awful, desperate times we are living in that here in America we would even consider that Breitbart would have been assassinated by his political enemies. Secondly, that is the first thought that occurred to me when I heard he died suddenly at such a young age and I am keeping that possibility open in my own mind - I put NOTHING past Obama & his thugs - they are about keeping power at all costs. Number three - here is a link to a Hot Air story & a video by Breitbart's good friend Bill Whittle that sheds some light on the health issue - it was not a minor issue.

Thanks for the report, Seattle Conservative. Newt did pretty well on ABC(I think that’s what I was watching), as well. Used pretty much the same approach you just described on MTP.

Well, I kinda hear you because there was one thread yesterday that ran to like 900 posts and several others as well.

The fact is, though, this Sunday thread tends to embrace all relevant topics and that is obviously on our minds right now.

Sounded like all of Wallace’s questions came right out of the Romney campaign research? Most sounded like it was taken out of context and asked to do as much damage as possible.

Compare to his softballs he gave Mitt last week.

Thanks Girlene. I always so appreciate your great reports of the shows!! I don’t get to watch all of them, so your reports are so very helpful and informative.

I just sent messages to Carbonite, Pro Flowers and Sleep Number and told them I will never purchase any of their products because of what they did to Limbaugh. And I am a woman. This argument is beyond ridiculous. I would laugh all of this off as just more stupidity from Washington DC if this were not so very serious.

You are not the only one that thinks he was murdered. I posted a thread last night on that subject and it had 127 comments.

I agree. I bet Carbonite finds out that they lose business from now on.

Not sure what you are talking about but if it is Rush, I disagree.

Rush never endorses but he does indicate things he likes about each candidate and his viewpoints are usually right on.

He’s playing the long game.

He wants Obama out more than anything, and he doesn’t want to put his eggs in a losing basket.

I honestly think he would endorse Newt if he were only talking to a next door neighbor, but he has to be FREE to go to the wall for whoever we nominate.

He’s still the best and I will continue to listen to him.

Don’t forget Georgie Will predicted Nancy would keep the house last election at this point. Those darn Tea Partiers were going to cost us know-it-alls the House.

The life of a Porch Republican.

I hate when Santorum lets moderators put him on the defensive and thus comes across as weak and ineffectual.

altura, I watched the interview, and came out with a totally different perspective. Santorum did quite well, it was the interviewer that failed. Wallace was especailly combative over stupid issues. For heaven's sake asking Santorum about his charitable giving and comparing it to Romney's and obama's - why so cheap, Santorum? Santorum explained he spent a lot of money on his family (especially the disable daughter), IOW, taking care of his responsibilites. It wasn't enough for Wallace, he asked him the same question again, rephrasing it ever so slightly. Santorum explained it the same way. I was totally flummoxed why Wallace would push such a trivial issue and then look like a total jerk. It was strange.

Overall I thought Santorum did quite well. Wallace continued to try to trap Santorum, especially with the BC issue, but Santorum did not take the bait. At least that's what I took away from it.

Know nothing about Twitter but I agree with you. It’s almost gotten bigger than Facebook.

I don’t post political stuff on Facebook as I consider it a Social Network and don’t want to alienate the few friends I have.

However, I would do it on twitter. Maybe I should learn something new.

Although I’m really tired of having to learn new stuff.

Of course not!

If Boehner and McConnell had any kind of gift of gab or rhetorical talent, they’d get the marbles out of their mouth (anybody thinks Boehner and McConnell going to be on all the news shows might need a bridge I got right here to sell, CHEAP)....they’d use that example and go on to explain that EVERYBODY has a deductible and a co-pay for drugs and for the gubmint to mandate that only BC pills be exempted from this begs the debate that ALL drug co-pays and deductibes be considered all in terms of cost, need , etc.

Why should women get their nine bucks a month co-pay for BC pills exempted?

It ain’t rocket science folks. The Repubs got an argument here and they should be using it beyond making a radio talk show host apologize.

Because it AIN’T about a radio talk show host, dear Lord.

I disagree, PaleoBob. Both Santorum and Gingrich are running to be the candidate in 2012. I think both realize how much trouble we are in and want to bring their leadership to the Presidency, now.

In other news, FOX SUnday shows latest poll in Ohio: Santorum still leads 34-32, but according to Wallace, Romeny continues to eat away at Santorum’s lead. (lol, nice little dig there, Wallace.)

I totally agree, altura! I don’y use Carbonite, but my Dad does. He always goes out of his way to do business with companies that advertise on Rush (which is why I have 2 Vermont teddy bears). Dad will get a phone call from me today.
