Didn't see this in the MSM. This is like, what, a 70% reduction?

Why cut entitlements when 0bama can weaken our defenses? Kinda looks like America is being intentionally made vulnerable? To China.. Or the Middle East, maybe?

One could say it is the AF and be partially correct.

I’m inclined to place the blame if blame is needed, squarely on the shoulders of Barack H Obama. Seems to me a certain group tasked with tax cuts couldn’t do their job so the cuts were mandated by the rules set down for the folks should they be unable to reach an agreement. Now all the armed services are feeling the pinch. Before it is all over everyone is going to feel the pinch, and wish it hurt even more because we are still borrowing money like there was no tomorrow. Just heard a discussion of the latest Obama budget that we hope is DOA. Seems the spending proposed will have us at a cool 25 trillion in debt in ten years.

It’s more lost if they continue to insist on closing the 911th. http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/video/6815651-air-force-not-budging-on-911th-airlift-wing-closure/

Selfrige ANG is in my area and Candice Miller is our Congresswoman......To her credit, she was able to keep the base open following her election back in 2002, (replacing the communist David Bonior), when bases around the country were being looked at for closure.

Candice Miller’s statement

AF also announced they are closing the 3d Combat Communications Group. For me, that was quite a shocker!

Yes, manpower and unit cuts are just the beginning. The base I retired from, Ellsworth AFB, was on the previous shutdown list, but survived. It may not survive the next round. Should that happen, it will profoundly effect the local community for quite some time. It would be the first real test, as so far we have not been unduly impacted by the state of the economy and the higher unemployment suffered by other areas of the country.

“I believe the cuts disproportionately hit the Air National Guard, specifically the Michigan Air Guard, and these cuts fly in the face of the Administration’s commitment to shared sacrifice”.

Excellent point by Congresswoman Miller, as is the following: “Why the Administration should seek to reduce the Air Guard force in this way is incomprehensible”. The President seems to delight in the incomprehensible.
