Looks like he is doing no less. HE SCREWED UP! He made personal comments about a person when he should have simply debated the issue. He could have even asked why an unmarried college student wants government to pay for her birth control etc. As a result of doing otherwise the liberal media has had a field day. It was a dumb thing which he did.
Do I feel sorry for Rush? No! Maybe if he checked his ego at the door before going on air he wouldn't have gotten into this mess too start with. Crowing about sponsorship sounds like he didn't learn a darn thing. He was as wrong as Ed Schultz, Don Imus, and a few other radio and TV host doing same. To rely on any of them for one's political guidance or information is insane.

He called a spade a spade. Listen to Fluke’s testimony, then you decide what she is (besides a demonstrable fraud, that is). Then....listen to what Maher, Schultz, et al said about Ingraham, Palin, etc.....and then you tell me the difference.
One proved herself to be a slut with her own words. The others were simply attacked for being Conservative women. HUGE difference. Rush called it as it is.

I agree that he screwed up and he stuck his foot in his mouth up to his knee, but it’s not the first time he’s done it and it won’t be the last.
He’s lasted longer than anyone ever thought he would. I personally thought he was a goner and wouldn’t be back after the drug use thing. And, to tell you the truth, I never gained back the level of respect I had for him prior to that.
But that’s neither here nor there. He has an audience. People want to listen to him. HUGE numbers of people are still very loyal listeners and that will not change because of this.
As long as he has that commanding of an audience, he’s going to get all the advertisers he needs. That’s reality.
The left never gets it. It’s all business.

If anything, when the kerfluffle is over, Rush will have picked up more listeners, and the sponsors who return will have to dig deeper...
I agree with your post #8 - Rush screwed up. He does not screw up often, but his recent crankiness may lead him into further hot water. But when he does screw up he seems to have to justify how right he was, or misunderstood etc. Like the Donavan McNabb comments that took him off ESPN. He still drags that up to insist the media had it all wrong. When he makes ambiguous comments close to or over the line he cannot fairly claim that someone else took it the wrong way. They can take it however they interpret it. And Rush of all people knows that media will cut him NO slack.
Sandra Fluke described her own actions. In days past...THAT WAS BEING A SLUT. It's a shame that we have gotten to a place in this country where we can't called it like we see it out of fear for political correctness.
And I disagree with what Obama said about her being a private citizen. She ceased being a private citizen when she became an activist and began actively trying to change MY life and the lives of others. The left just wants their hypocrisy left alone.
She misrepresented herself...stepped into the debate with the intentions of not just telling her story...but being an activist. Her actions prove she was a slut...and she is one...by my definition. As a parent...I WOULD NOT BE PROUD.
That said...Rush should have focused more on the dem setup than her person...that was the mistake.

Well there is quite a difference between Fluke and the women’s college basket ball team or Laura Ingram. Neither the b-ball team or Laura Ingram had gone public with a whine over wanting someone else to subsidize their social sex life.
I would have given Rush a pass for saying once, but he went on for three days about. That was his mistake, not the first use of the label.
