Most people I know, family and/or acquaintences, are living their lives as conservatives— (for the most part) yet as you say, repeat whatever the lying MSM tells them, and believe it. No amount of simple explanation will tell them differently. Quite sad, and scary for the future.

Knowing personally some of the teachers I have to deal with, I have tried, believe me. They have made it very hard. There are VERY few at the school I do tech work at that aren’t spoiled, selfish, entitled morons. The few I know at the school that have their head on straight are the principal, administrator, and the maintanence man...

Nice to see a freeper who gets it rather then the “oh no, we need to be more liberal so we don’t lose such strong republican voters”

I can’t believe there are people still falling for this bs.

I don’t buy that these women are evangelicals and “old school” Repubs in the first place. But idiots like this who choose a candidate based solely on their reproductive organs make me think Neal Boortz had a point when he said women shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

"That is what I think each time I see a obama sticker. “Another idiot”.Also I see more of them on vehicles occupied by White people than I do on vehicles occupied by Black people."

Yes, same here. Also, if they're female, they're unattractive and look dumber than dirt.

You are right about former teachers. Many thought they were vastly underpaid while they taught, and now they feel cheated with underpaid retirement checks as well. In some states, raises are rare for teacher retirees. They do believe that there is a government solution to most problems. Many also resent being ineligible for Social Security in many situations.

Interesting line, but do you think these “educators” in some cases resent NOT having had abortions when they were less socially popular?

Talk about silly. You just walked into this NYT obvious 0bama spin article and accepted it as truth. It's not. This is a winning issue for the GOP - and it is about religious freedom, not contraception. We are not losing women over this; Pinch just wants you to believe we are.

Unlike you, I actually am involved in this process and review private polls each week that show me the lay of the land. The GOP is currently hemmorraging female votes. Stay in denial if you wish. Of course the NYT is propagandizing this to attract the idiot RINO women who read that rag. But beneath that is the underlying truth that the current crop of amateurs running for the nomination, and running the party have thus far completely lost an issue they ought to have won.

Mrs. Russell...an evangelical Christian who is pro-abortion. A retired school teacher of the old mold, moderate Republican....most likely she’s just moldy.

"Russell"

I find it amusing (and sad) that she describes herself as an evangelical Christian but strongly believes in abortion. How many evangelical Christians are pro-abortion to the point that's their number one issue? Over the economy, national defense, and religious freedom. Mrs. Russell is a moral moron.

And so it begins. The election year liberal media campaign of disenfranchised “republican” women/minorities who “might” or will be voting for the democrat instead. And their “reasons” are always the usual liberal talking points right out of the DNC handbook. It never fails. Now let’s see them interview disenfranchised democrats who will be voting republican. I won’t hold my breath.

So the NYT’s in its diligent reporting manages to find a few nitwits out of 3 million Americans. Note they are retired school teachers. Boy I was going to vote republican this election but the New York Times tells me everyone is voting Obama. I don’t want to seem like I think for myself so I’ll vote Democratic.

remember the PUMAs?

They didn’t get much press in ‘08.
I can’t imagine they’ve completely disappeared

I haven’t seen any articles about the women who are sick and tired of angry/bitter/anti-baby/anti-men shrill liberal women pretending they speak for all women.

...the battle over access to birth control...

I wonder where this "centrist" is getting her information. WHO is trying to block anyone's "access to birth control"? I haven't heard anything about that in any of this garbage. To be an informed voter, you can't rely on 30 second soundbites from Barry's MSM propaganda machine to give you the truth. No one has said anything about controlling her "reproductive rights". This article in the Slimes is nothing but commie 'RAT propaganda. Women can have all of the "birth control" they want. The taxpayers just don't want to have to pay for it. The Planned Parent Hoods will gladly give them all of the pills and abortions they want.

National polls like this ... SHOCK POLL: ROMNEY 48% OBAMA 43% [Drudge 'Pimping For Willard' Headline]

would suggest that the GOP is NOT "currently hemmorraging female voters."

However, that said, I think we both agree that Rick Santorum has completely blown this issue, which we should easily win and thus Rick may be hemmorraging female voters. The answer though is not to avoid the issue, but vote Newt and WIN IT! Go Bama and Mississippi!
