Mitt Romney on Monday laughed at Newt Gingrichs suggestion that he is a weak frontrunner who is failing to win over conservatives, saying of the former House speaker, If Im a weak frontrunner, what does that make Newt Gingrich? Because Im well ahead of him.
Celebrating his 65th birthday on the campaign trail in Mobile, Ala., Romney said in an apperance on Fox & Friends that he finds it funny listening to these guys trying to attack his standing in the 2012 race.
Theyre saying what they wish were the case but happens not to be the case. Dont forget Florida, New Hampshire, Michigan, Arizona and many other states, Romney said. These are places where conservatives were asked after the race who they voted for and I won commandingly in those states among conservatives.
He added, If Im a weak frontrunner, what does that make Newt Gingrich? Because Im well ahead of him so Im happy to be solidly ahead.
The GOP-e endorses and supports him, the MSM alternately dismisses and attacks his opponents, Romney and his Super PAC have spent $77 Million and $34 Million respectively in attack ads against their opponents (Iowa and Florida being examples of Mitt's weakness and need to destroy Newt) and the electorate finds him lacking - weak.
We are sooooo screwed.
>> If Im a weak frontrunner, what does that make Newt Gingrich?”
Hey Myth, I’ll tell you what that makes Gingrich: a competent candidate with brains, guts and vision who nevertheless has been pummelled mercilessly by a GOP Elite and an agenda-driven press, while *you* have been given a golden-boy free pass.
(In so many ways, Mitt; you are weak; and Newt is strong.)
Willard is a white-bread-and-mayo version of the Master of Slick, Bill Clinton.
What is there to like about that?
The GOP establishment will be the biggest loser should Romney be nominated and fail this time. RINO will be spoken only in hell.
This is headed for a three-man race in the fall.
Clearly the GOP establishment does not believe they can beat Obama. So why should we? Perhaps our goal should be to make Mitt finish a distant third and start the great GOP Going Out of Business Sale.
but WHO is Newt making fun of (that apparently cracked Rick Perry up big time).
No one in their right mind wants what Mitt is selling.

Pinson Valley today. (The Birmingham News/Hal Yeager)
Isn’t he the guy who lost to the guy who lost to Obama?
Thought so.

It makes Newt Gingrich not as rich as you. Thus not able to destroy his opponents.
Baby doesn’t appear to be a Mitt fan!
Record low turnout in states that Romney takes. Yeah, that sure is a sign of a strong and healthy frontrunner. Unable to obtain clear a majority, that too, a sign of strength and power, in GOPe-land.
