A referee on Sunday refused to officiate a French women's football match, when players for one of the teams took the pitch wearing Muslim headscarves, the club involved said.
The official sent a report to the Languedoc-Roussillon league in the south of the country about the incident involving players from Petit-Bard Montpellier, who had been due to play Narbonne in the regional promotion tie.
The league must now decide whether to order the match to be replayed or to award a win to Narbonne.

It's all the fault of all those drugs the boomers jammed into their brains. They PROMISED that the drugs were cool, harmless and would be good for them.

Most leagues have similar rules regarding ANYTHING that is wrapped around the neck, from necklace chains (with or without a Christian cross or Star of David), neck warmers, scarves, physio tape, etc.

Additionally, there are rules against padded headgear for all but the goalie. Decades ago cheeky players were using headwraps to create flat surfaces on the forehead for headers.

The wages of colonialism--all those conquered people get to go to the home of their conquerors. Happens in the U.K. too. Glad we didn't go the colonial route. you’re absolutely right. France banned head scarves, as well they should, and I have to commend the person who refused to continue as ref. If you don’t like the rules, get the hell out of the game.

France was very clear no more of their head dress and yet they broke the law, they then made a team up, they then went into a tournament knowing they would not only break the law but also break the rules .
These muslims need to be told every day that they are in the west now, don’t like it then go back home and if they’re a native of which most are not in France then give your cult up or go by the laws.
They also look ridiculous. Muslim women do not need to cover up like that and look like a condom, no they were asked in one survey from the UK why and most said to let the country know they were muslim.

Perhaps, but I kind of like the idea of booking every player who come out onto the pitch wearing illegal gear, and then issuing them a second yellow (and therefore a red) if they persisted in the violation. Let's see what kind of score an 11-on-0 side can put up in 90 minutes.
