manning to the Broncos

Peyton Manning has a new home.

Manning will be playing in Denver next season.

This is coming from ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.

The Denver Broncos have signed Manning as the legendary quarterback is playing somewhere other than Indianapolis.

The Colts released Manning in early March, which made him the one of the biggest names in NFL free agency history. The Broncos were the first team to get an interview with Manning and they were one of the favorite teams all throughout the process.

The Broncos are taking a chance on Manning. He’s undergone four neck procedures in a short period of time and nobody knows how effective he can be in an actual game. There was a video of him throwing the ball at Duke University, but that’s nothing like a real game situation.

The Broncos are also saying that quarterback Tim Tebow is not their guy. I don’t see any way Tebow and Manning stay on this team together. This means that Tebow will need to be traded somewhere else, which brings up the question, how valuable is he?

Tebow was able to bring the Broncos back from being one of the worst teams in 2011 and got them in the playoffs. Once they were there, Tebow helped the Broncos win a playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, he did have the worst completion percentage out of any starting quarterback and he doesn’t play a traditional style.

It should be interesting to see what happens with Tebow now that Manning is with the Broncos.

I agree with everything you said. I would like to add I hope that piece of work Elway gets run out of town for good when Tebow leads his next team for the next dozen years or so and we (broncos) are back to suffering through years of retreads and also rans.....

As a lifelong Browns fan -- please, no!

Why not? The Browns are one of the most boring teams in the NFL. Tebow would inject a little of excitement and Thas a better chance of becoming a good quarterback than McCoy.

I can’t remember a front office ever appearing to be so hostile to a starting quarterback in my life. You have players beating up wives and girlfriends, you have people getting arrested on gun charges and brought up on murder charges and getting caught soliciting hookers the ngiht before the Super Bowl, setting bounties on injuring opposing players and that’s cool. But let Tebow bow his head to God after winning a game, well, they don’t tolerate that kind of behavior in the NFL.

It was obvious that the Broncos never warmed to Tebow and let on as much, albeit just below the threshold. Looks like they may give Tebow the bums rush now.

Tebow ruined their plan to go 1 and 15, and then draft Andrew Luck.

One of the reasons certainly must be Elway couldn’t stand being near the Light inside Tebow after his sordid and pathetic life. Darkness always had and always will hate the Light all Christians carry with them

"I hope that Tebow’s next team appreciates him and that the Broncos go 0-12."

And with some Luck, that the Colts go 20-0...

Why not? Because Tebow is a pretty crummy NFL QB.

But, hey, if it would only cost a 6th round pick or something then go for it.

Denver is not that cold, it doesn’t snow that much (I lived there) and John Elway won 2 Super Bowls there when he was older that Manning.

Or maybe he just likes his QB to have a completion percentage over 50.

The Broncos head office and coach never liked Tebow. The fans love him.

I agree and I never understood why the head office and coach didn’t like him.

He brought the team a long way last year and he rallied the fans behind the team. I don’t usually follow football but I did after listening to all the Tebow talk.

Personally, if I owned an NFL team, I wouldn’t take a chance on a QB that could be one blind-side hit away from a wheelchair.

Of course these bastards do have money to burn.

That risk is present no matter who is playing quarterback.

“Why shouldn’t he not only start for the Broncos, but mentor Tebow to get him truly ready to take over the team in a couple of years?”

Part of me just doesn’t trust Elway, but I hope that’s really the plan. As much as I like and admire TT, some time to develop would benefit everyone in the long run, methinks.

manning to the Broncos

Proper nouns, which includes a person's name, are supposed to be capitalized.

You might also look up the rule that says a verb must agree with its subject in number.

"Nouns" is plural. "Includes" is singular.

>>ESPN is reporting that Denver wants to trade Tebow.<<

Pretty bad idea. They don’t have any vision. This is like SF using all its cap money to buy big names and ended up befeft for nearly 2 decades.

Unless he was like Ryan Leaf, I would think Tebow is the future no matter what he does or whether he is a proud Christian or not (although I am glad he is). Yeah, he’s green but he’ll get better — his run last season was a taste of things to come.

One good hit and Manning is done. Then Denver will be like Indy last year: in the basement.

Despite my immediately prior comment, you have to admit that the new “no toucha the QB” rules may delay that.

But Manning will have to man up, admit the truth, and put on that dress, red jersey and Velcro flags on his waist.

I have always had lots of respect for Peyton yet I feel he is making a mistake trying to play with his neck/nerve problem. I hope I am wrong but I see him taking a hit next season and not getting back up from it—
