Louisiana offers a total of 46 delegates, but only 20 will be up for grabs in Saturday's primary. An additional 23 will be selected at the party's state convention in June and three others go to the state's Republican National Committee members.

And while Santorum tried to recover from one misstep, a supporter in the audience added an off-message wrinkle. As he fired the pistol, a woman in the crowd shouted: "Pretend it's Obama."

Santorum’s original comment made perfect sense: If the GOP offers a candidate very similar to the incumbent, people will stick with the known quantity. I also think that is exactly what is going to happen.

What was Rick doing at a range with a crowd? Is he touched?

Hey Rick, going to the range isn't a game show.

If Santorum wins Looosiana Mittbot Psycho Freak may have to admit that maybe-perhaps-well it could be-the moon is bloo-I’m stuck on stupid—that all his compulsive obsessive Santorum loathing was in vain--but I doubt it.

More Lamestream lies from PSYCHO-FREEP.

Santorum did not say that he would vote for Obama, or any of the other twists that the left has been putting on this.

What he said is that Mitt Romney is not a satisfactory ALTERNATIVE to Obama, because he has many of the same faults. They are both lying socialists. That was perfectly correct. Pushing Romney gives us no real choice. It’s a Stalinist Communist vs. a Leninist Communist, with both of them more than happy to kill babies, push gay marriage, nationalize healthcare, and spend like there’s no tomorrow.

You say that you are bashing Santorum because you prefer Newt. But the purpose of the left wing press and the RINO establishment is to nominate Romney, not Newt, and that is what you are helping them do, whether you realize it or not.

If Romney is nominated, I will not vote for him, and neither will a lot of other people. But if enough lies are spread about Santorum at this critical juncture, then Romney is going to be nominated. Why do you think Drudge and the GOP/e are all pushing this story?

Whether one agrees with Santorum’s opinion or not, the real inexcusable error is the fact that it proves Santorum has a knack for unforced idiocy. What he said had zero potential for gain, and tremendous potential for misunderstanding, but he said it anyway. That’s just not very bright, and the hostile post-primary press will have field day after field day.

Grasping at straws, did any of the ladies have fish net hose on so you could say there might have been a hooker in the crowd. Unbelievable!

This article is full of lies about Santorum. Santorum NEVER said he would vote for Obama if Romney were the nominee. What he said was that if the Republicans nominate a candidate who is almost exactly like Obama voters might choose Obama. This media falsehood is an attempt to distract from the Romney adviser’s etch-a-sketch comments.

Santorum reiterated that he would support the Republican candidate. He did not “backtrack”. I am tired the the constant media lies about Santorum and his supposed gaffes.
I am also tired of FReeprers, who should no better, mindlessly parroting the media narrative about Santorum being dumb etc.

Facing heightened pressure to revive his presidential bid, Rick Santorum was forced to explain another apparent misstep as he courted Louisiana voters Friday, the eve of a critical contest in a Republican nomination battle that increasingly favors Mitt Romney.

First, it's an ABC affiliate story, so there is a slant to it that favors Mitt and tries to diminish Rick. That's where I typicaly tune out.

The language used that I highlighted is indicative of their intent. Santorum's campaign has a reasonably good head of steam to it and more and more voters are being turned off by mittens.
