Former Vice President Dick Cheney received a heart transplant on Saturday, his office announced.
A statement from the former vice president's office said Cheney is now recovering in the Intensive Care Unit of Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va., outside of Washington.

GWU’s hospital is where Cheney was taken (repeatedly) during his tenure as VP; it’s also where Reagan was taken after he was shot. Subsequently, both families donated generously to the hospital. The cardiac center is known as the Richard and Lynne Cheney center and the main hospital building is named for RWR. Few know how generous these people have been. And that’s the way charity SHOULD work.
I can only envision a proud, strong America had Dick Cheney been healthy enough to take on the rigors of a presidential run in 2008. There's no doubt would have won against Obama.
With President Cheney at the helm, American Exceptionalism would be flourishing right now. And because of his extensive background in the energy industry, gas prices would probably be less than $2.00 a gallon.

Ever since we heard many months ago that he was considering a heart transplant my husband and I have prayed for him every evening. It was with great joy that I heard this announcement on the news tonight! There must be great joy in the Cheney family tonight for this incredible Blessing. Prayers that his new heart will give him many more years of life and that our Lord will keep him close.
Prayers too for the family of the very kind person who gave such an unselfish gift of life.

Folks, I’ve got to tell you that I had heart surgery at Inova Fairfax hospital in January and I was from out of town and came to Inova because of its excellent reputation and the outstanding surgeons who operate there, especially the surgeons of CVTSA who worked on me.
Two months later, it is almost like it didn’t even happen. I am so much better and because the heart surgery was through a 1.5 inch hole through my right side under my arm, recovery was quick.
I cannot say enough good things about my INOVA experience. Too bad it will all go down the drain with Obamacare.

My husband had two massive MI at age 51....then a quad by pass, then stents three times and then a defibrillator and now will need a new battery replacement for the defb. we know first hand what heart disease is..may the Cheney family find Peace and Comfort during his healing...

The Wizard, Obama, said, “You don’t need a heart, a brain, or a life. I’ll take care of all of those for you. You don’t need to think, care, know, etc. It’s all in my new list of executive powers which I just signed.”

I woul imagine that Cheney has been on the list since November, 2000.
A Vice-President with known heart trouble would be automatically enrolled.
