The New York City Department of Education is waging a war on words of sorts, and is seeking to have words they deem upsetting removed from standardized tests.
Fearing that certain words and topics can make students feel unpleasant, officials are requesting 50 or so words be removed from city-issued tests.

I got a big kick out of banning the word “computer” in the home. I guess I’m typing this on my “home electronic brain,” “home calculating machine,” or my “Home Electronic Babbage Difference Engine.” B-P Scotty, beam me up!

Constitution, Reagan, Freedom, American Exceptionalism, Success, Hard Work, Free Speech, Bill of Rights, Pride . . . . . did I miss any?
I suspect the intent of all this dreck is to impress upon the children that they are not supposed to think. Any “original thinking” must only be from the elites, the nomenklatura. The children being abused in public skrewls are supposed to keep their heads down, not think, and be good serfs. Even if it means they are supposed to just sponge off the system instead of applying themselves and doing real work.
I wonder if the people commenting here actually looked at the list? Some of them do actually make sense.
BAN any Department of EDUCATION....they are worthless suckers

The Left always, always accuses the right of actions they are or wish to engage in.
Hah! Thanks for the chuckle :)
I saw no words which should be banned, only censorship of words that seem to offend the officials who are banning them. This whole concept is BS. Censorship is never desirable.
Maybe the education cartel, could organize a book burning.

So banning words will help kids "adjust?"
Some people accrete stupid the way Moby Dick accretes barnacles.
Whole system is shot.
