Romney is technically Latino or Hispanic. His father was born in Mexico. He is “white Latino.” If he learned Spanish instead of French at the Mormon languae school in Utah he would be all over Unision TV. The press is going to crucify whoever the V.P. nominee is

Thanks for sharing that Eva. I hope so. Could Newt throw Santorum some delegates? I thought at the conventionthey have to vote the first time for the candidate they were pledged and then after that can vote for the candidate they choose.

Identity politics is a loser strategy
Why? Why do we need a VP or president who has questions of allegiance or partial allegiance to any Spanish-speaking country.
Why not a half-alien spawn of a Chinese communist?
Or a half-alien spawn of a muslim Kenyan communist?
Or a half-alien spawn of a Russian communist?
Or a native-born spawn of two communist muslim immigrants from some other Soviet Icky-stan?
Or the half-alien spawn of any misguided American citizen who went to rut with a citizen of any non-US communist nation other than a Spanish-speaking communist country.
Why this quest for a VP or president who has allegiance to a Latino communist country?
A Natural Born Citizen of the USA is a person born in the USA, to parents who are both themselves citizens of the USA at the time of birth.
We didn’t have a real vote, just a caucus. The delegates will vote for the guy that they were elected to represent at the state convention. It is very unlikely that delegates that were elected to represent Santorum or Paul, would switch to Romney.
Evidently, the goal is to decrease the percentage of delegates from WA that go to Romney. There must be some formula that they use.
Gingrich wasn’t very successful out here. This is a very weird state. They replaced the GOP chairman two years ago and the outgoing Republican Chairman is now the lobbyist for the SEIU and is convincing the state GOP elite that the unions are ready to throw in with the Republicans if the Republicans see things the union way. Seriously, I’ve actually been told that by a campaign manager for one of the congress candidates.
I don’t agree that we “need” a Hispanic VP but only 2 Hispanic Republicans are serious contenders for the job and both are conservatives. Rubio, and Governor Martinez.
We do need an exciting running mate, especiallty if Mitt Romney is the nominee (it’s looking like he will be). A Hispanic running mate would be exciting.
