Gingrich speech spectacular. Santorum, Romney so so at Wisconsin Faith and Freedom Rally

Go to Cspan.org and watch the 3 GOP candidates speak at the Wisconsin Faith and Freedom Rally. Do you agree with me that Newt Gingrich knocked out of the park, while Santorum continues with his whining how he is better than Romney and Romney tells stories about senior citizens who cannot retire? Believe me, we may be in trouble with either Santorum or Romney. Newt would beat Obama in a landslide.

Definitely! They both have good, sound ideas and the knowledge and determination to carry them out.

Correctamundo! That was his best ever.

Give Newt the nomination. He will grab Hussein by his Marxist throat and never stop squeezing.

You can forget it — it would be too good to be true.

The Republican electorate is more liberal than what it pretends to be. Their overwhelming choice of Romney proves it.

Newt can give some stemwinders when he’s on his game and talking real Conservatism.

Ping for later viewing. Heading out to my two Great-Grandsons birthday party. Oldest is two today and his brother is one tomorrow. Two of the sweetest, cutest, boys you ever saw. Not that I am prejudiced or anything. :-)

“The Republican electorate is more liberal...”

I’m convinced it is as well as the country regardless what Rush says; or, maybe it’s more ignorant/uninformed than we’d like it to be.

There are "objects of the most stupendous magnitude, and measures in which the lives and liberties of millions yet unborn are intimately interested" (John Adams) before us in this Year 2012!!!

Those words are as applicable and appropriate today as they were when Adams first penned them!

On June 9, 1776, John Adams wrote from Philadelphia, "Objects of the most stupendous magnitude, and measures in which the lives and liberties of millions yet unborn are intimately interested, are now before us . . . ."

On June 11, a Committee was formed to develop a declaration of their intentions.

On July 4, 1776, a lengthy Declaration of Independence was adopted which changed the world! William Ellery, Rhode Island, later wrote that he stood where he could watch every person sign the document: "I was determined to see how they all looked as they signed what might be their death warrant. I . . . eyed each closely . . . . Undaunted resolution was displayed on every countenance."

What a contrast! Our ancestors, in less than a month, took the kind of courageous action that leaders who love their country take on behalf of liberty for "millions yet unborn," accomplishing in just weeks what no civilization had accomplished before.

Today, feckless pretenders to leadership, living like kings in previous monarchies, personally risking nothing, make excuses for inaction and allow the precious inheritance of freedom to be risked for the sake of political power.

Who will emerge to bring excitement and enthusiasm of America's youth to the cause of liberty?

Who will risk all on behalf of "the lives and liberties of millions yet unborn"?

No surprise. The American people however are not smart enough to nominate Newt or to vote for him in the general. This is by design. The Founding Fathers would vomit if they saw the "universal suffrage" which has polluted the governance of the Republic.

2012 Presidental election will take place on August 24th or shortly later as with Newt as nominee, we will have a new President; without Newt, we have 4 more years of Obama or longer.

We don’t have to wait until November.

Agree that Gingrich is the one whose grasp and understanding of founding ideas can outwit, expose, and defeat the counterfeit ideas of Obama.

After all, those tyrannical ideas cannot stand exposure to the light of reason. Such notions must be hidden in promises of "goodies" from "government" and masked by semantics and a hugely engaging smile, once they have been applauded.

A candidate whose focus is on "issues" like "jobs" (critical as they are) must possess something much deeper--a principle, if you will--which gives voters an "ah-hah" moment, if he is to reveal Obama's arguments to be the shallow and desperate attempts of a power-hungry wannabe ruler.

“Believe me, we may be in trouble with either Santorum or Romney. Newt would beat Obama in a landslide.”

I completely agree. Santorum served us well in PA, but I don’t think he could win in the fall and I am convinced that Romny will be another Dole or McCain.

The 40% choice?

That's what you mean, right?

There is no overwhelming body of people behind him ~ not the worker-bees, not the rank and file, not the elderly, not the young, not the Reagan Democrats, not the Catholics, not the............

They had to cheat to get Romney across in Virginia.

I'll just have to assume you had an invisible (/s) in there somewhere.

Unfortunately, at this point, it looks like one of the two GOP-E selected candidates will get the nomination. Gingrich appeals to the +1σ and above IQ crowd, which unfortunately only makes up ~15% of the total area under the bell curve, which is about what he's been getting in each of the recent elections. Santorum and Romney have a broader appeal because it is a lower appeal. Sad, but it works.

Exactly. How far we have fallen from where our Founders were at.

I’m disgusted by the mewling I see here on FR by the people who think we have to roll over and accept Romney otherwise “you just help re-elect Obama.”

1: Romney would be little different, so it’s not like it matters, and

2: These people are such fearful bootlicks that the concept of actually trying to put together a broad-based conservative alternative to the dicephalic single-party system we have right now is anathema to them - they’d rather sigh and resign themselves to socialism by one means or another than do anything that might resemble heavy lifting to try to do something about the situation.
