Just saw Romney's acceptance speech. Just when you though America couldn't get in the stuff any deeper.
How utterly sad that this is the best we can come up with.
It is an amazing descent. Two/three years ago, with the combined advent of Palin and the whole Tea Party movement, it was the first time since the 1980s and the era of Reagan that I really had a glimmer of optimism about the country’s future. Talk about dashed to hell! The GOP-e and Romney have really turned everything into a bottomless pit. I’ve gone from being totally energized to not being remotely invested in anything going on. Become more of a distant spectator, idlely bemused by the entire, farcical demolition-derby of an election year, while the country continues its swirling demise.
I'm a Mormon!
President Romney: Destined by the gods!
this will be the second time the American people have been robbed of a good candidate.
Not only did Romney win, but almost all the establishment candidates won in that primary.
It’s no wonder Illinois is a one party state.
"Dick Cheney - please pick up the white courtesy phone."
“The GOP-e and Romney have really turned everything into a bottomless pit.”
Agreed.
He won the nomination big time too. So there is some hope!!!
Sarah did get into it, by backing Newt.
Well, shoot — he’s got a new heart. Let’s see how his new ticker works — maybe it will give him a real boost. He’s only 71.
I’m proud to have worked at the hospital/heart center where he was treated ... wish I was still there.
You know, you can look at the Wisconsin results and see he is STILL not the favored candidate. He really SHOULD get out.
He “wins” all the liberal states that WILL go to Obama in the general, while he LOSES the conservative states that we could have had.
He WILL lose in the general election — and we will be stuck with 4 more years of hell.
Then ... out of the blue, to save us all ...will come ...JEB!!!
Lame attempt at bigotry.
Lame attempt at bigotry.
I’d also have no major problems voting for him.
Lots of people are uncomfortable with Mormon beliefs, and that is our right.
Except judging by Gary Johnson's lack of charisma in the debates, even the Libertarians managed to pick probably their worst possible candidate. Guess we'll have to see who that Americans Elect party comes up with.
“Lots of people are uncomfortable with Mormon beliefs”
Hey, I don’t mind Mormons or anyone believing in any religion.
But, when we have a Mormon as president it means we will have a former Mormon bishop who believes there are many “gods” out there, that if he is good enough he will become a “god” to rule his own planet with many wives.
Check out so called Prophet Joseph Smith’s revelation that a Mormon would one day become president of the United States:
“The White Horse Prophecy is a statement purported to have been made in 1843 by Joseph Smith, Jr., founder of the Latter Day Saint movement, regarding the future of the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) and the United States of America. ... The prophecy further predicts that the United States Constitution will one day “hang like a thread” and will be saved “by the efforts of the White Horse”.[1]
“Some have speculated, on the basis of the White Horse Prophecy, that Mormons expect the United States to eventually become a theocracy dominated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).”

I guess I’m guilty of multitasking on that right now. If it helps, I don’t know who is winning the ball game.
Sarah, get into it and pick up Newt as your VP!
