Scarborough: 'No One' In GOP Establishment Thinks Romney Will Beat Obama
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 04/04/2012 5:37:08 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Unemployment stubbornly over 8%. His landmark piece of legislation in dire peril of being dumped by the Supreme Court. The "flexibility" moment with Putin's pawn. Does that sound like an invincible incumbent to you?

It does to Joe Scarborough, and according to him, to every other member of the Republican establishment. On Morning Joe today, Scarborough said that while they won't admit it on TV, "no one" in the GOP establishment believes Mitt Romney will beat Barack Obama in the general election. They want to lose for some reason (fear of riots?)...I think they don’t want to be blamed for the ENTIRE economic meltdown coming.

What a croc!!! Romney is not who I would have picked but he is certainly capable of beating the Kenyan idiot. granted there are some who will sit it out but there are enough of us who will keep our eye on the prize. 8.3 unemployment(and that's low ball) and $5 gas means this bozo is probably toast!!!

The Race has not started yet. Just wait until the “debate” between Romney and Obama. Its going to get ugly really quick.

Being the opposition party is always easier, all you have to do is bitch and complain and not have any real responsibility, but you still get all of the perks of being in Washington, DC.

Ha. Doesn’t matter....Obama is beating himself. Folks, Obama is multiple times worse than Jimmy Carter. Any notion Romney, as much as he is hated by the far right (with reason, I might add), is as bad or worse than Obama is laughable. Heck, even Sarah Palin was saying “Anyone but Obama” yesterday....I think that is where most of America is. We will need a strong Congress to keep Romney’s liberal tendencies in check.

If Romney wins it will be because Democrats have voted for him. Why would ANY Republican be content with four years of a President and his policies whom DEMOCRATS are happy voting for?! This makes no sense unless what you call a Republican and what I call a Republican are two different things.

He can’t. Thats why the left picked him.

The left also is putting their energy, funds and skills of deception into keeping Republicans divided.

That’s on my list of possible reasons also.

I honestly can’t think of anyone worse to be our nominee than Romney. Heck, even freaking Joe Liberman would have been a stronger candidate.

The only thing that could make Romney worse is if he got caught having an affair before November.

I am slipping into depression.

There’s your answer. Far better to let President Obama and the party he (nominally) heads to take the rap for a tanked economy and a Second Great Depression. It is a calculated risk; hold out until 2016 and in theory, the country should be ready for a Republican President.

In theory.

The Harlem Globetrotters need the Washington Generals, and the Democrats need the Republicans for the same reason.

“This stooge basically gets paid by leftist MSNBC to make Republicans look bad.”

You are correct!

All the freepers who are falling for this ... don’t.
Romney is at least a 50/50 shot at beating Obama.
The DNC/Obama team want to drag our the primary and so will attack Romney. They are doing all they can to weaken Romney.

The only chance Obama has is revving up his base and depressing ours ... So, expect a lot of “MOBY” operations (look it up) to tell us how awful Romney is, how he cant win, etc. etc. anti-Romney freepers who feed this narrative, just be careful you dont unwittingly do the Obama team bidding.

Sad to say, it’s over for Santorum. Look at the delegate count and the primaries coming up. He’s at the point where he is nearly mathematically impossible to win. Newt’s at that point and now is gettin single digits to low teens in the vote - him going to Tampa is about as meaningful as Ron Paul doing that. none can get the delegates to defeat Romney. That leaves brokered convention as the last not-Romney option ... but do we want to pick our nominee and give them only 60 days? The GOP elites dont, which is why they are coming around Romney now. If Romney wins PA, lights out for Santorum and the nomination is over. Romney wins.

Meanwhile, likely voter polls show Romney v Obama at 45-45. In reality this means Obama is in Big Heap Trouble.

I agree anybody but Obama.

Obama has already made it clear that he plans on moving to the fringe left if he wins, because he wont have to worry about relection in 2016. Considering how far to the left he has been when having a relection to worry about, it’s very scary to think what he will do in 2012-2016 when he has no restraints.

Romney on the other hand has no real convictions. He only cares about getting votes. Romney would govern 2012-2016 like somebody who had a relection to worry about. Which translates into Romney would govern center/right.

Center/right may not be ideal for freepers, but I think it is a whole lot better than the FAR left governance that you will get with Obama.

Thats why it baffles me when people say Romney and Obama are the same. How can you say somebody who wants to take the country to the fringe far left is the same as somebody who is going to take the country center/right ?

It’s really quite simple. An adult will always make the best of what he has to work with while a whiner will wail, gnash their teeth and threaten to take their football and go home. The latter is what we are seeing from the anti Romney people.

To be clear, I am NOT a fan of Romney and had I the choice to make myself I would not choose him. However I believe i do see the reality and the seriousness of another Obama term and believe with the support of all registered Republicans whomever the nominee is will be elected.

Those who say Romney is another Obama are either a bit crazed or else they are liberal plants sent here with the purpose of dispiriting the right.

The very first thing which must be done after a serious injury (Obama) is to stop the bleeding. After that is done the healing process begins. But without the first thing happening there is NO CHANCE of the second coming about.

If you go back at least 4 years you will find that Scarborough has completely blown or been way off the mark on every electoral prediction he has made. He’s in the tank for Obama because MSNBC has bought him. He’s also extremely boring which is why I am glad I can switch to Fox Business Channel and watch Degan Mc Dowell put down Don Imus.

Joe Scarborough said Bill Crist was “the only professional in the room” in 2010 (in Scarborough’s home state of Florida) and that he would mop the floor with Marco Rubio.

Joe Scarborough said Rand Paul would lose in 2010.

Joe Scarborough predicted that Bob McDonnell would lose in Virginia in 2010 and that in Texas Rick Perry would lose first to Kay B. Hutchinson (wrong) and to Bill White (very wrong).

Joe Scarborough said the Republicans would NOT retake the House of Representatives in 2010, or if they did it would be by a scant few seats (nice hedge but stupidly wrong).

Joe Scarborough cheated on his first wife, destroyed his family, had a dead intern turn up in his Florida congressional office and resigned his seat under cover of darkness, all within a period of months (2001). The intern’s death, by the way, has never been satisfactorily explained (her family was treated like garbage by Scarborough and his people) nor for that matter has his resignation (he had just won re-election and wasn’t in danger of being voted out).

Scarborough watched as his fellow Republicans ran from him like the vile poison he is, personally and professionally, and he has never forgiven them or the party in general for it. That is why he does and says what he does and says.

Joe Scarborough is as bitter and egomanical as his erstwhile colleague Keith Olbermann and he is as willfully obtuse as his present doofus colleague Ed Schultz.

He will no doubt follow the both of them into deserved oblivion.

Due to the FHA, Fannie and Freddie Bankruptcies of September, 2008, American home owners lost 30 % of the value of their homes. That is a 30 % cut in just one month. Home values are still down 30 %.

Thus, let us cut the total compensation to all elected Federal politicians, and their staffs by 30 %, and an additional 10 % cut to elected Federal politicians each year until Federal Spending is LESS THAN the average of the previous 2 years of Federal income.

BTW, since slightly less than half of the US House, and 2/3 of the US Senate are Millionaires, it will be a great opportunity for Congress to lead by example that EVERYONE should give up their “fair” share of the American Dream.

What better way can there be to demonstrate that America is truly a SUB-PRIME NATION?
