You’ve been here long enough to see with your own eyes for many self-proclaimed “evangelical Christians” it certainly *is* a MORMON thing. I know because I’ve criticized many of those posters in particular because it’s the last reason to oppose Romney given his record.

What has the House done to stop Obama?... Nothing...and clearly they could have. So that argument holds no water concerning Romney either. Congress is willfully helpless to change the tide Obamas been on and Obamas certainly giving Romney lessons on how to go it alone without Congress.

Therefore Romney will adhere to his LDS leadership above anything the congress might say...it never goes further than lip-service.

So bottom line...will not vote Romney no matter who he chooses to run with him...and there's no guarantee if Newt's asked he'll accept. And I have no reasons to believe Romney will ask....on the contrary every reason to believe he won't, rather he has his own RINO team already selected....you can be sure of that.

The primaries are not over!

Unfortunately too many are already in Romney's camp because they choose to hear the media and politicians saying so.

Yeah but they say they love us and beg us to come back

And then they send their surrogates here on FreeRepublic to try to frighten us lest we leave them.

We can still work through Congress, where most likely new conservatives will be elected.

And tell me what exactly difference that has made to Obama's agenda? If they don't stand against a tyrant what makes you think they'll do more than "go along to get along" with Romney?

Congress accomplishes no more than passing the balll back and forth amongst themselves....they sold us out long ago.

“I have never said I won’t vote for Romney. But count me undecided. I am going to listen to him during the campaign. If he convinces me he will work within the principles I hold dear then he will get my vote. If not he won’t.”

Talk is cheap for politicians at election time.

Try to imagine the next SC appointment with Mitt.

Look at his past appointments, for crying out loud.

Liberal, pro abortion, pro homo, just like Mitt.

There is no need to give up until he gets to 1,144.

Until then, Newt and Rick should both stay in, to try to prevent that from happening.

Romney is a Dem Trojan horse trying to take over the Pubs from the inside.

Romney’s dad was a student and supporter of Saul Alinsky.

Socialism is bad, whether it has a D or an R by it’s name.

We’ve got to TRY to stop him in the primaries.

There are plenty of Mitt supporters here at F.R. They have been very careful to this point, to keep from getting banned but now they are starting to come out of the wood work, very cautiously at this point but should Romney become the nominee, they will get bolder and bolder, with the "anybody but Obama" defense.

The lesser of two evils is still evil. (Not original but still very true)

BTW, do you have children or grandchildren? I might be proven wrong, but at least a Romney/whatever ticket will give us more time. Are you hell bent on bringing about Armageddon? That’s what we’re headed for with BO.

Just like democrats, romney supporters, use the children when it benefits their candidate. I’m worried about my kids and grandkids, but told I should not talk about it because it’s a “moral” issue.

And your reasoning for believing anything Romney says will stand? He's a liar, and proven so, how could you believe anything he presents?

You misunderstand the purpose of the primaries. They are not there to pick a candidate. That was decided 4 years ago.

That’s exactly the kind of thinking that helped give us Clinton—all those people who were going to teach the GOP a lesson and vote for Perot. The Perotistas gave us Clinton, and now you guys who are going to teach the GOP a lesson THIS time, are going to give us Obama again. And then you’re going to blame the GOP for your little temper tantrum.

The song, “Pigs(Three Different Ones)sums up Mitt rather nicely:

“You well heeled, big wheel, Haha Charade you are”

and

“Pig Stain on your rat chin..”
and

well you get the point, the song can be found on Pink Floyd’s “Animals” LP..

I think the reason they're playing their hand right now is that deep down, they know their candidate's a worthless lemon and they're panicking.

So what to do? Pull out the playbook from 2008! Page one: "As much as you hate conservatives, you need them in the end. Send your team to the forum sites and plant seeds of doubt about abandoning the party. Frighten them; tell them they HAVE TO vote for your candidate, or they'll be voting for the other guy."

In a way, this reminds me of what gets done to Mormons who try to leave the cult. Maybe that's the inspiration for these tactics.

Hopefully, enough conservatives will stand fast and not fall for this BS.

With all due respect, this kind of speculation is nonsense. The primaries are not over and we must not concede to the least attractive candidate. Baiting support for Romney in this way is in my opinion counterproductive. The primaries are not over!
I agree.

No.

I fell for that four years ago and held my nose while I voted for McCain. Not falling for it again.
