Now that RS has effectively dropped out Romney will feel safer and safer moving into a general campaign feeling it ‘in the bag’.

Let’s watch and see what he does and see how fast the true liberal in him comes out. It will. Romney is a liberal.

Yours is the most logical post in this thread. Will Mittens keep talking conservative or will he make a 90 degree turn towards severely moderate to appease the centrists. If he starts talking liberal talk now that Rick has left the race, I will abstain in 2012, in spite of knowing Obama in 2nd term will be far more destructive of the country. I detest people who are undependable more than people who have a core belief even if it is not same as mine.

That is very likely to happen. Time will tell. If that's the case, time will tell how those fellow conservatives who back Romney now will react to it. I hope I don't hear them go so far as make excuses for his leftward shift.
