OBAMA OR ROMNEY: THE REPUBLIC FAILS EITHER WAY
WorldNetDaily ^ | 03/29/2012 at 7:59 PM | Ambassador Dr. Alan Keyes

Posted on 04/10/2012 11:56:22 PM PDT by TBP

As I anticipated, “the elitist machinations of the sham party system are predictably moving America toward another false choice between an avowed socialist Democrat and a prevaricating socialist Republican.”

The “lesser evil” approach guarantees the triumph of wrong. So in choosing between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama we are like the cornered target of the hit man who says, “We can do this the easy way or the hard way.” The fatal outcome is inevitable in either case. Obama’s way takes us to domineering socialism along a path that moves more openly and harshly against right, conscience and property. Romney’s way takes us to domineering socialism along a path that reserves the harsher methods, preferring to use deception and prevarication so that we go more gently into the night.

The Obama way challenges the courage of Americans, and if that courage is lacking, it will succeed more quickly. But if courage is not lacking, Obama’s way entails much greater risk of resistance and failure in the short term. The Romney way is slower, but more surely and easily achieves the goal.

I’m finding myself visiting FR less frequently, not sure of the next best forum. Anybody but zero is all that matters to me.

When your home is in flames, hose down the inferno, and mop up the mess and rebuild later.

It’s lame to stand to the side and say if you can’t have the exact hose you want, you aren’t going to fight the inferno.

Sure, you can oppose the dictator and end up in a FEMA camp or shallow grave. I’d rather have mitt as president than zero as dictator. At least we will be able to oppose mitt without fearing for our lives.

I wonder how many of these “I’m staying home rather than voting for Romney” types are in fact Obama supporters posting here specifically to discourage us

Well, considering that the owner of this website is disinclined to vote for Romney and has proclaimed such here for some time, I'd say you (and the Romney campaign) would be better off to realize that opposition to Romney has deep conservative roots, instead of simply blowing such off as Obama campaign disinformation.

The GOP-E has shot themselves in the foot by pushing the Mittster. But I am convinced they would rather lose with a RINO than win with a conservative. So who REALLY is concerned about the well-being of this country? The GOP-E, with a long history of colloboration in big-government programs such as TARP? Or conservatives who are refusing to be colloborators any longer?

So is your conscience ok with helping Obama get a 'more flexible' second term?

Spot on!

You will be seeing these DU troll threads for the next six months. Any sane person will get behind Romney and help defeat the devil in the White House.

I will vote in elections where I have a true choice but I won’t play this game of selecting between two evils. Obama will burn this country down quickly, Mitt will burn it slower but will still burn it down. The old guard of the GOP has stated that they don’t care about my vote because I will will have no choice but to vote no to Obama due to my hatred of him. They are wrong. They have ignored me (a Conservative) and they do not represent me. I am taxed without representation.

You say Romney will burn the country down slower. You don't know that for a fact. I'll vote for Romney and also take the responsibility for holding his feet to the conservative fire.

You don't really care if Obama gets a free swing at our freedom? Think of the lasting damage he can do to the Supreme Court.

I have a son in the army. I hear about the damage Obama has already done. What more will he do with the free hand of a second term?

True patriots do all they can to protect their country. They don't run when it gets messy. I for one have too much at stake to stay out of the game just because I didn't get my self righteous conservative ego stroked.

Didn’t know I was speaking to someone that had such power to hold Mitt accountable. Either you’re his wife or you’re delusional. No matter, if I stay out of the vote this time, my vote will be more valuable to candiates next time, ego aside.

If Obama wins, you may not have a vote next time.

I believe what you are saying, but I haven’t had a vote since Reagan. A vote between two evils is not a vote.

Frankly I think it was Democrats that were pushing Romney. They know the weak link when they see it. The Republicans who want to keep on looting but want us to think they are conservative pushed him too. I hate it that the enemy gets to pick our general but I see losing as suicide.

The Romney way is slower, but more surely and easily achieves the goal. It exploits the fear of those Americans whose attachment to the comfortable enjoyment of material goods outweighs their concern for abstract moral and spiritual goods such as God-endowed rights and decent liberty.

Ambassador Keyes nails your brood a lot more politely than I would.

This quote could be just as easily be used to support Obama

Among the wise this is true. But a lot of folks just can't make themselves believe Obama is really the enemy he is.

“Ron Paul’s foreign policy views really more odious than Romney’s consistent socialism? People say that Paul’s non-interventionist views are a threat to American security, but it seems to me that a Romney “Obama Lite” administration would be a threat to American existence.”

Yes. They are.

Paul’s another one of these guys that failed History in HS. What if Charles Martel decides to stay home rather than gather 10,000 people who don’t like each other to defend France, and the rest of Europe, against the Muslim’s in 721?

You think Europe would be a different place today than it is now?

You think blacks are happy slavey became in issue during the Civil War?

You think Jews are happy America got dragged into WWII?

America is great in large part because the great wars were fought by us ON SOMEONE ELSE’S LAWN!

According to Paul, we shouldn’t shoot until we see the whites of their eyes. What an idiot. Seriously.

He’s the guy that would wait until its too late. He’d look at SDI as a frivolous expense. Same with espionage. Dangerously idiotic.

I can’t believe this guy has lasted this long.

He's just your every day democrat don't ya know. They think some pure conservative is going to come riding in on a white horse to save the day. Newt's on wife number 3 - but that's OK with the moralists. Romney has been married to the same woman 40 years and has a boatload of kids and grandkids. I hardly think he's going to deliberately sink the country. Perry was my perfect candidate - or so I thought, until he was picked apart piece by piece. They pretty much did that to every candidate right up until the very end and now they don't like the end.

I’m not cheering for Romney, I’m simply saying the choice is between “suicide” and “sick but survive”. Vote for Newt until the very day of the convention if you can!
