Trayvon Martin’s mother Sybrina Fulton told the TODAY show Thursday that she believes her son’s fatal shooting by George Zimmerman was an accident.

“I believe it was an accident, I believe that it just got out of control and he couldn’t turn the clock back," she said.

It wasn't an "accident."

It was intentional. It was either self-defense or murder. But even Zimmerman doesn't claim that his gun went of accidentally.

How interesting. Perhaps she knows that now that there is going to be a concerted defense the real Travon Martin is going o be shown for what he really was?

One sad consequence of this thing is that riots ensue, more black people will be killed by other black people.

An object lesson in the exploitation of someone's tragedy: if you can't get an all out breakdown of civil society out of it, you can still leverage it for totalitarian gun laws!

A Marxist winwin.

Actually, the State bringing charges is not all that stupid.

If they had not brought charges they knew that things would have exploded with riots etc.

Now that charges have been brought it appears the mother and probably all the family will now start ‘talking down’ the racists as they know what really happened.

Now if the case is dismissed or a not guilty verdict is reached at trial they are hoping all the evidence will dissipate the tensions and hopefully avert riots.

it is a calculated gamble by the state — trade 100% sure riots for a 25-50% chance there are no riots when Zimmerman is exonorated.

And then there is always the possibility that there is evidence that shows the charges are justified — although I think this is highly unlikely.

Nice summation.

However, the truth will not stop the NBP or Jesse or Al from marching, rioting over this so-called White-Hispanic killing "Little" Trayvon.

All the while, indifferent to the horrific Black on Black and Black on White murder rates nationwide.

A man’s freedom is at stake.

A man’s freedom AND LIFE is at stake. How long do you think he will last in prison? His life won't be worth a plug nickel............

Yes I believe this also. But look what has happened as a result. All the fuel of distrust and old hatreds has reared its ugly head. If we are to save this republic we cant just vote good people into office us, the american public need each other to pull this off.

Charging Mr. Zimmerman with second degree murder is an outrage and should make everyone take pause for we have now fallen into MOB RULE. I have been asking myself why when the first prosecutor said there is no case here, Ms. Corey charges Mr. Z with murder? One can only come up with but one conclusion, this is to try and calm the mob down. Never thought I would see this day. And how is Mr. Z supposed to get a fair trial? We should all be very afraid at this turn of events.

Oh and thank you JimRob for sending my password to me so quick you are such a sweetie. :-)

If it was an accident, it lets Zimmerman off, but perhaps makes it easier for the Martin family to collect from the HOA insurance company.

What a mess. I suppose the charges should now be dropped. Maybe they will be.

You seem to be under the impression the US operates under Sharia Law ans it's a case of the courts regulating the grievences and blood money in the case of the Martin clans v. the Zimmerman clan.

US lae is a desendent of British Law. The crimes are viewed as committed against The King's Peace or The People.

Once someome is accused it's Florida v. George Zimmerman.

Ny feeling is the States Attorney has a couple of underreported facts/circumstances that give her a really stong case against Zimmerman under Florida Law and Zimmerman is as innocent as Mumia Abu-jamal.

I thought that last night.
The prosecutor brings charges to make a trial happen so ALL the evidence is presented in court for ALL to see.

Then he is found NOT GUILTY and the state is off the hook...........

According to Florida law, now that there was an arrest she can start suing. She made it clear that all she wanted was an arrest, she didn’t mention justice in the press conference.

Now the bucks can start flowing.

And the facts regarding Trayvon can come out through discovery such as any behavorial, social issues he had, drug use, any drugs/alcohol in his system the night he died, etc... Up till now the general public has been treated to photos of a cute 13 year old boy. That will change in court.

The decision to charge him with second degree murder, is nothing more than a compromise to end the protests and to defuse a situation which could get out of control, and to prevent more incidents of violence or worse.

So, it’s a compromise, where the state charges the defendant with second degree murder, the charge gets reduced in court to manslaughter, and the defendant ends up serving a short period of time in prison, and gets released before his next birthday.

Alternately, the charges are dropped for lack of evidence, and Zimmerman and his family apologize to the Martin family, and the whole situation will have been defused. Thus, the charges are, mostly, just a means to defuse an ugly situation, and to prevent it from getting worse.

T's family knows, they knew the path he was choosing, they knew if he didn't get back to the straight and narrow, he would either wind up dead or going to jail for killing someone, they knew.

Which is WHY MOM sent TRAYVON to go live with his DAD.
