FORT WAYNE – There was a bang at the door. Then a second bang and the door swung open.
An intruder with a handgun had barely come inside the apartment when it happened, recalled the man who lives there.
The intruder pointed the gun at him, he said, so he grabbed his own handgun and fired at least twice.
“Instantly, I reached for the weapon, because I didn’t know what was going on,” said the man, who asked not to be identified to avoid publicity. “It was so quick.”
Wounded, the intruder left the apartment in northeast Fort Wayne, ran a short distance and fell to the ground, police said. He was taken to a hospital late Thursday and died shortly afterward. He was identified as Patrick M. Lee, 18, of Fort Wayne, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

Home invasions are becoming very popular these days. I can see why the “reverend” twins are concerned about “castle” and “stand your ground” laws. Their side is taking some serious hits.

I understand a double-tap, one center mass and the next in the head - the chest shot will slow him down even with body armor, and a head shot with any decent caliber will likely kill. What's the point of a groin shot after a head shot - to make sure he dies in extreme pain?
What do you call killing an assailant with one and only shot from a small caliber weapon. It’s a t*****n. It can also be used as a verb.

Good shooting! The community is that much safer now. If I was mayor the guy would get a freaking medal.
