Well, unfortunately, we all seem to disagree on who is a “conservative candidate” so it’s No anybody else but Obama.

Yippee.

All that is going to matter with the next President is who will he appoint to SCOTUS. That court will dominate the USA for at least a generation. Obama will appoint the highly progressive justices as he has already done twice. Romney is somewhat more likely to appoint a conservative. I will take that chance with Romney over the sure thing with Obama.

Romney appoints liberal judges. He’s an abortionist, homosexualist, statist. No thanks!

I am aware of the way bills are passed into law. While bills “originate” in the House and Senate, the President can use his “bully pulpit” to pressure Congress.

My point is that a Republican (especially a liberal one like Mitt) is far more likely to sway a Republican majority in Congress with bad policy than Obama could.

I also think 4 more years of Obama will strengthen the Conservative cause. His first term brought about the Tea Party. Think of what the second term would do.

Up until now, Progressives have been very patient. They’ve made very gradual changes to this country to suit their cause. Obama is screwing that all up by introducing this country to Socialism FAR TO QUICKLY.

I think Obama could be the best thing to happen to Conservatism. :D

you are delusional and assume there will be an America in which a conservative movement can exist much less grow.

The Tea Party redux will involve revolution

Anyone who actually belives that leaving Obama in place is no better than a democrat loser.

There are SCOTUS appointments to consider.

Obama will simply bypass Congress as he is doing now.

Your guns will be removed.

You can kiss sites like FR goodbye because Obama will end them.

Conservatives will get the blame for more Obama and conservatives will have marginalized themselves into oblivion.

This kind of talk is delusional and ridiculous.

I still think your logic if faulty. I certainly wouldn't bet the welfare of the republic on it.

Think of what the second term would do.

The first was plenty bad enough for me and imagine what it would be like to say that to a soldier.

I think Obama could be the best thing to happen to Conservatism.

Some on here have gone so far as to say they're going to vote for Obama, I assume based on similar logic.

I see it as a 'rule the ruins' fantasy. And a dangerous one.

Thanks for the ping.

So we all write in Newt on 11/6/12, "or else", huh?

It's good to know where we stand. But I admit, I'm giving the idea of a write-in a lot of thought. Unfortunately, a write-in would only work if the entire conservative/Republican base agreed on one; but between Gingrich, Perry, Palin and Paul, there would be too much splintering.

That said, it's not over 'til the fat lady sings, and the convention is still months away.

Well, we each have to do what we think is right. I simply cannot vote third party or not vote at all with Obama in office.

I guess we have to agree to disagree. I can’t vote third party or not vote at all with Obama up for re-election.

In that case, you've got two choices: Socialist A, or Socialist B.

Choose wisely. /sarc

This Primary does NOT have Obama running.....he's not in this race...and for the life of me I cannot understand why those who say they are conservative have already determined to "Not vote third party, not vote at all" as you stated...when there is STILL a Conservative candidate running.....Newt is still running..and even Paul.

This is why I do not give those who say they're voting Romney room at all.....they've gone over to the other side way too early and cannot justify why doing so, unless they weren't conservativve Republicans in the first place...there's still Candidates running ! And they are simply ignoring that fact.

The primary in my state is over. Santorum took the state pretty handily.

You're embarrassing yourself.

I wanted Bachman. I thought Cain/Gingrich would be a great ticket.

But I would vote for Elmer Fudd instead of 0bama. ABO. Anybody But 0Bama.

If this were a conservative site, rather than a necon site, Ron Paul would be listed. Free Republic has fallen so far it’s a shame. A real shame. I’m disappointed in ya Jim.
