Republicans, as they have for nearly three years now, continue to lead Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot, this time for the week ending Sunday, April 15.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 46% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for the Republican in their districts congressional race if the election were held today, while 36% would choose the Democrat instead. This is the largest gap between the two parties since the beginning of 2011. It also doubles the gap found a week ago when the Republican led by five points, 45% to 40%.

My thoughts: the Republican base is being dragged to support Romney, but are VERY excited about putting a Republican congress--a "severely conservative" Congress--to keep Romney's liberal drifts to a minimum.
are you sure republican even means conservative anymore?
I hope that my fellow FReepers will manage to get past this FR-exclusive Mittlekins Meltdown and spend most of the next seven months enabling and enjoying the coast-to-coast smackdown the GOP is going to be putting on the ‘Rats come this November.
We need to get ‘em running and then hound them to the ends of the earth. We need to turf them out utterly and then laugh and celebrate at our emancipation from their hateful yoke.
A week after the election we can then get down to the serious business of bird-dogging Romney and all of the Pubbies from the right, and sniffing out RINOs in Congress for subsequent replacement by tea party conservatives.
But from now until election day our watchword should be “Winning!”
How conservative was John McCain? GWB? Bob Dole? GHWB?
When did republican ever "mean" conservative?
Couldn’t agree more. Well stated!
AH!.. but in many areas democrats can (and do) vote multiple times..
Then theres the virus in the programming of the voting machines thingy..
Then theres the mailed out ballots thing.. god knows the scams that can happen there..
In many places the dead vote.. and aliens that are not even citizens.. and Micky Mouse, Donald Duck.. maybe even Stalin and Mao are voting.. Did I mention voting machines that scrap some votes and add to the total of others..
Voting these days may just be Theater..
After all HOW can virtual traitors take over most all networks, colleges, foundations and trusts, Universitys and even most cable?...
Somebody must be getting a lot of help from somewhere..
Obama seems to OWN the FBI, CIA, NSA, Secret Service and all the Top Brass in the Military.. the UNIONS, and Union spinoff organizations.. Soros and a gob of other Billionaires,, (with their money safely stored offshore..)
Love to see DemonRats blown out the rear...doors of congress big time.
touché
Defeating the dems delays the demise of America by a few years, but it doesn’t make it not happen.
The math does not favor a good outcome.
We thinkers are quickly being outnumbered by those who scream for mo’ gubmint cheez.
I have to drive an hour and a half east to even get in Republican district, and yes it is largely farmland.
Transplanted East Coast do-gooders, ex-hippies, unicorns and pot smokers have taken over a 50 mile strip on the west coast from Seattle to San Diego.
Be thankful these impure Republicans vote with the party the vast majority of the time.
ah... you’ve hit on the goal of “public education”
But Nancy Pelosi said that the Dems would retake the house! /sarcasm
I think folks are being hit in the face with the ‘cost’ of democrat-run government - gas prices, in particular. I hope the cost is $6/gal by November!
This is a reality we face, but right now the polls indicate the opposite. The wind is at our back because the GOP is pushing an agenda that is popular with the American people, while the Democrats are saddled with unpopular positions and a terrible economy on their watch. They have health care and a 1.5 trillion dollar deficit as an albatross. We are winning the day, and need to take this opportunity to push the party as far right as possible, by pushing out DC insiders and replacing with more grassroots conservatives in the primary. Out with Lugar; get Cruz instead of Dewhurst. Back guys like Allen West and others who have a tough reelection fight ahead. If we have another big primary and election, we are going to force good legislation and force the DC leadership to do more good and stand strong on the big issues. If all goes well, we have an opportunity in 2013 to push some good tax policies and entitlement reform.

Deck chairs on the Titanic at this point.
In order to prevent sinking, those in elected positions would have to do things that get them unelected next cycle.
Here's my plan:
Step 1 - Delay the demise of America by a few years.
Step 2 - Repeat Step 1.
Step 3 - See Step 2.
etc.
And, if you're in PA, the hand-picked, party-endorsed GOP Senate candidate is a liberal millionaire who donated to Joe Sestak and admitted he voted for Obama. They've all been caught in spin and lies trying to cover his record up and bamboozle voters. So the Romney formula is being tested on at least one state battleground as well as nationally.
Whoever wins, we lose.
You mean entitlement reform like Newt's brilliant Social Security reform that Romney bashed in the debates and said couldn't be done? "Reform" is not in Romney's vocabulary.
