Carney: Keystone Pipeline Would 'Sacrifice American Sovereignty'
breitbart.com/biggovernment ^ | 4/23/12 | Whitney Pitcher

In a press conference on Friday, White House press secretary Jay Carney responded to the recent new Keystone pipeline bill passed by Congress earlier this week, as theWashington Examiner reports:

"It would be preemptively sacrificing American sovereignty" to approve the pipeline, White Hosue [sic] Press Secretary Jay Carney said, because a route for the northern portion of the pipeline has not been established.

"The United States Congress -- a very important body, takes American security and sovereignty very seriously, or should -- is saying that we will, in advance -- blind -- approve a proposal for a pipeline, a proposal for which does not exist," he also said.

The Keystone XL pipeline has undergone 3 years of review, but the State Department refused to grant a permit after pressure from environmentalists demanding the route through Nebraska be changed.

The bill passed through Congress earlier this week with a veto proof majority that included 69 Democrats voting for the newest measure. The latest route running through Nebraska has already been approved by the state legislature and signed by the governor in that state.

Beyond the fact that President Obama is at odds with many House members in his own party, Carney’s charge is ludicrous. The northern portion has not been established because the State Department is requiring a completely new review process for the proposed new route. Additionally, aligning with an ally like Canada would not “sacrifice American sovereignty” as Carney claims.

Then whatsay we abrogate the UN treaty, Jay? And withdraw from the IMF? And the WTO?

Bet they don’t sacrafice American sovereignty in your mind. But American sovereignty as an excuse can only be used when denying something that helps America.

Sacrifice our sovereignty to the Canadians? WTH? The Obama administration really does think we are all stupid.

Canada is and will always be our closest ally. They are practically our 51 state. Good freaking grief. This lunatic administration has completely cracked.

What is the procedure for legally removing an insane administration? Impeachment and conviction? Sadly the Harry Reid Democrat controlled Senate would never convict because they are as insane as the administration/regime.

lunacy. pure lunacy.

Well, I’ve been to one world fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that’s the stupidest thing I ever heard coming from the mouth of a Press Secretary.

As a freshman cadet at a military academy, we were required to read the newspaper every day and inform the mess of what was going on in the world. Naturally we didn’t have newspapers readily available or time to go to the library to read one. So we got real good at coming up with somewhat plausible and interesting news stories. I didn’t realize at the time I was being trained to be a Presidential Spokesperson.

See what you get when you leave the staff to answer all the calls...oh no real difference, just another excuse for not getting any real work done...

“”It would be preemptively sacrificing American sovereignty” to approve the pipeline, ....”

No, no, he's gotten it backward. the pipeline would preemptively sacrifice Canadian sovereignty. That's what our (Canadian) anti-American leftist envriofascists tell us. (Perhaps I was a bit redundant there.)

“This guy is truly an idiot, or he thinks we are.”

Both!

And we were suppose to think Time magazine was a credible news publication when he was there. Yeah right!

>>No, the truly scary part is that both know very well what they are doing. They are not mindless, they are evil.<<

I respectfully disagree and also agree. To wit: carney is a mindless idiot PUPPET. barry is a mindless idiot whose few thoughts are certainly against the USA (e.g. evil). But he is too stupid to actually create plans to do the evil he wishes. his HANDLERS are the source of evil. barry is just a conduit for that evil.

His “objection” is based on the supposition that we can’t trust the Canadians to not do something nefarious with the routing of the pipeline through which they are selling massive amounts of an exported product.

Mr Carney should visit Calgary on Stampede week. He'll find out it's sponsored by American whiskey, chewing tobacco and beer.

Now, which sovereignty are we talking about ?

This mind-bogglingly stupid statement by Carney is actually a gift in disguise, that is, if any member of the White House press corps is savvy enough to take it and run with it.

The next time that Obama proposes yet another dangerously foolish initiative (such as drastically cutting the nuclear deterrent, cutting the defense budget, promising flexibility on missile defence with the Russian president, ad nauseum), the ideal counter is to hit Carney with “but wouldn’t that be preemptively sacrificing American sovereignty?”

sometimes ya just want to take a two by four and maybe just maybe knock some sense in to this moron.

Stone waste of time and a perfectly good 2x4.

Those bums are so deep in the crapper, they're lying to themselves now, and the only people even bothering to listen are their pimps in the media and the slugs they've already paid to vote for 'em.

How can you talk about sovereignty and the northern border when you ignore our southern border.

I am expecting any day for this idiot to tell us we will successfully send a man to the sun by going at night.

What's scary is that most of Obama's followers would revel in the genius of the idea. MSNBC would make fun of Republicans for not thinking of it first. Al Gore might Volunteer to go turn down the furnace in person since Obama found a way to safely get there. And of course Biden would explain how this will revolutionize the production of sandles.
