Why Bush was so bad at the end of his term.
Unknown

Posted on 05/02/2012 8:13:03 AM PDT by Sen Jack S. Fogbound

This may have been around before but it is worth reading it again!

This tells the story, why Bush was so bad at the end of his term.

Some people aren't aware of all of this. Don't just skim over this, please read it slowly and let it sink in. If in doubt, check it out.

The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3, 2007... the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.

The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this: January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress. At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77 The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5% The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH Remember the day...

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie? OBAMA and the Democrat Congress So when someone tries to blame Bush.. REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!" Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is "I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th." There is no way this will be widely publicized unless each of us sends it on!

Ah, the List. Proving the dishonest never sleep. The Left produces a turd and you eat it.

The Left didn't produce that list. GW Bush did.

No matter how buried your head is in the sand.

People trashing Harriet Miers know NOTHING about her. She was Bush's attorney and he knew her for over 20 years. He knew she was rock solid on abortion and all the social issues.

People who had never heard of her, Left and Right, attacked her because she was his secret weapon and she was from Texas. In Texas, the Democrats launched a relentless campaign against her and even tried to bring the usual "ethics violations". They attacked her friends and the man she dated for years. The fact that conservatives joined in the lynch mob made it all the more disgusting.

Roberts and Alito are proof he knew what he was doing.

You think the House has a filibuster?

Nope. But the Senate does. And DID. Very effectively.

The current House has passed many bills that are DOA in the Senate. Just as it was in 2001-2006.

You arrogant creep. Of course the Bush administration knew what was coming. That's why they issued "rebates" and talked up the economy hoping they could do something to stop the collapse before it wiped us out. You're Soooo smart after the fact. Your assessment of Bush's motives and tactics are the usual leftist propaganda. No thread stating the obvious positive things he did for this country goes without you Bush Trolls who swoop in to restate the Carville vomit points.

Ha Ha Ha! A classic Bush hater writes a book and, of course, the FR idiot patrol drags it into the thread.

Bartlett is also famous for calling Rick Perry "an idiot".

There are 1000 books highlighting Bush's positives to every piece of crap you malcontents wander around with.

They had zero power to block anything in the house from 2001 to 2006 under Republican control. You think the House has a filibuster?

You got me thinking. Waters and the Crew Et-Al may have been running the block in 06-08' time frame BTW the video is out their on youtube of this....

Shame on "our side" for not getting anything done sooner ( Hastert, what a waste ), when they had the House. And no, I know they don't have a filibuster....

something the BDS people forget is Bush actually tackled entitlement reform ....with little or no help from anyone....Had more people backed him on that it would have made a huge difference in “fiscal responsibility ‘ of course no one else would or will put themselves out for what needs to be done.

Ahhh, back to sanity. Just seeing the faces of soldiers during a Bush visit, compared to an Obama visit, says everything.

I would gladly take Bush over either of the two socialist choices we have this year.

Typical Bushbot.

You probably bought the line that GW was a compassionate conservative.

Bury your head back in the sand.

You're right. They also like to forget he spent the entire first year of his second term traveling the country campaigning to save Social Security. Crickets.

And he took the dreaded prescription drug bill away from the demagoguing Democrats, diluted it and ran it thru the private sector instead of making it another government program.

One is defined by his enemies ....please explain why Bush is hated (even more hatred than you have ) by the left?

Why should they hate someone who (according to you) gave them all they wanted?

The Bush haters really have a screw loose

Many loan brokers lied to the buyers...especially Countrywide Home Loan brokers.

Some in California were making 60-80,000 per month.

You're absolutely correct. I am a proud Bushbot. Absolutely.

Why don't you ask the babies that were allowed to live during his eight years, if he was "compassionate". There's nothing more compassionate than life.

I'll take my head out of the sand if you'll take yours out of your ass. Deal?
