Obama Files has discovered a recording from 2007 of then-Senator Barack Obama ranting against U.S. gun dealers, blaming the Virginia Tech massacre that had occurred a few months earlier on 'unscrupulous' gun dealers, and throwing in for good measure gun dealers being responsible for the rampant gun violence in Chicago's public schools. This sheds light into the Obama Administration's program to demonize and falsely blame U.S. gun dealers for arming the Mexican drug cartels, while at the same time 'encouraging' them to hand over thousands of weapons to individuals that they knew were planning on transferring them over the border. Operation Fast and Furious becomes not a 'botched' gun-walking program, but a perfidious plan to disarm America by demonizing and punishing U.S. gun dealers for simply obeying the law.

His main thrust seemed to me to be that the rich, probably white(?), Virginia Tech students got more press then the 34 Chicago, probably black(?), students that were gunned down in Chicago that year.
I perceived a resentment that the imbalance in reports was racially motivated.
I maybe off the mark, but I know this man much better today than I did four years ago and that knowlege has formed my perceptions outlined above.

Sure don't have "gun violence" problems in the schools in my town, and most folks are armed around here as this is a popular hunting area. Could it be Chicago's restrictive gun laws and lawless people causing problems there and not the objects (guns)?

I would agree with you. The problem is, no matter if they find someone guilty, NOTHING is ever done about it. A simple slap on the hands(s) is all that they get.
