Media Matters, NOW unite to force Limbaugh off the air

“Start listening to Rush Limbaugh.” That was the unexpected message representatives from Media Matters for America and the National Organization for Women delivered to NOW chapter leaders in a secret, narrowly focused strategy session Wednesday night.

In audio of the NOW/MMFA strategy webinar obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, the liberal organizations plotted the best ways to get the radio giant and veritable burr in their collective saddles off the air.

Go after the local advertisers

The key, according to Media Matters online outreach director Jay Carmona, is to target Limbaugh at the local level — specifically advertisers in local radio markets — but with an eye on his national sponsors.

It's great that organizations are so proactive doing things for downtrodden women --- domestic violence victims, oppressed females in backasswards Middle Eastern countries and salary inequality at the White House.

Teaming with Soros' Media Matters to get Limbaugh off the air will do a lot to further that cause.

Limbaugh is supporting the GOP nominee.

Shouldn’t we join with the libs in bringing him down now?

Why don’t they just tell people to listen to Air America instead?

Oh, wait...

“Just make sure that you take some time to talk about why certain things he says are wrong or messed up with your group, and that can actually be super, super empowering to do that,” she continued.

This just might backfire on the nags. If they actually listen to him in order to find things to refute, then they will hear some things (facts) they never heard before. When people actually listen they find him not to be as evil as they were led to believe.

The fact that the Marxist nags are out to get Rush only means
that he is effective at beating the Communist.

Seems that they would have learned a lesson when they tried
to capitalize on the Fluck incident.
The advertisers that bailed on Rush are licking their wounds.
Carbonite still does not understand why I dumped them.

The left (now Communist) is too stupid to know that the more they cry and scream, the more they hurt themselves.

Only in liberal La La Land can you “bring Limbaugh down” by actually LISTENING to his show. They will certainly have to trade off the number of converts TO his ideas with the number of advertisers they successfully eliminate. Their last attempt over the Fluk Flap was a mere handful. Even if they got half his advertisers, his income would simply drop from $100 million a year to $50 million.

Those who have criticized Rush for being in the tank for the Republican establishment (perhaps at times justified) should be mindful that the left considers him a primary target and are going to great lengths to remove him from the airwaves because of his clear and damaging (to them)conservative message.

Yes, know him by his enemies. The left loathes and fears Rush Limbaugh, the harmless little fuzz ball.

“Local advertisers” are not the way to get Rush. What a bunch of fools these people are... Probably not one of them ever had a broadcast sales job on the local much less national level or ever filled out a time or sales order of any kind though they’re chock full of “communications degree” graduates. Whatever. I wouldn’t bet ONE CENT of the millions I’ve made in the REAL world on the side of their lame-ass pinko theoretical activist e-mail list tunnel-visioned highfalutin’ gated community Subaru take-the-oil-change-to-the-mechanic “oh my goodness the story said it was a semiautomatic” PBS lamenting kneepad crap.

If the political affiliations were reversed, in a week or two we would start seeing a parade of "former NOW members who listened to Rush and saw the light" stories in the MSM. Woman after woman would describe how they started out listening to Rush under instructions from NOW to get the goods on him, came to understand that he spoke the truth, and were now resigning their NOW memberships and joining Rush 24/7.

Of course, this type of scenario will almost certainly happen, and the MSM will spike the story.

“If they actually listen to him in order to find things to refute, then they will hear some things (facts) they never heard before.”

I think you’re right; they’ll lose some lefties if they allow them to be exposed to Rush. Some callers are former lefties (I know anything can be faked on the air, but they have pretty specific information that a non-leftie probably couldn’t even dream up); they sound like white middle-aged people having a tough time. Obama should lose in 2012 because not only will swing voters vote for anyone-but-Obama out of financial desperation, but some traditional Dems will also cross over. It happened in droves in the 1990s with BJ Clinton (especially with white males); there is a lot of reason to believe it can happen with white females now. The Dems certainly seem to be afraid of those women walking away (hence the fake “war on women”), and they should be afraid of that; Obama has ruled as though whites don’t exist.

Not that I blame him; any white that can lives as though blacks don’t exist.

The fact is that Air America catered to people who couldn’t support their sponsors armed only with food stamps, while Rush’s fans I’m sure are above average in earnings (not that I’m full of myself - I’m not a regular Rush listener, though I think he is a great entertainer & much brighter than anyone on Fox).

What kind of sponsors would a left-wing show attract? Roach Motel? Norplant?

The fact that they are encouraging their members to listen to Rush, means that they automatically criticize and hate him based on what they are told about him.

When some of the "encouraged listeners" become Rush dittoheads, the left skulls full of mush will explode.

Well, my Rush days go back prior to Dan’s bake sale.
Rush is the best of any talker, and he is sincere in his
beliefs.
I get him each morning from recording him via dar.fm while I sleep.
For MSM, Fox may be as good as we can get, but I can not stomach watching it, as I am now receiving it for the first time in seven+ years.
The clowns make me sick.

Rush is a great speaker, and very quick on his feet (Hannity in particular is easily stumped by any live caller - he needs a teleprompter as well as someone to read it to him); I also bear in mind that Rush has a few ex-wives, so I separate his political/fiscal consevatism from his social conservatism.

Over all, the world is a better place because of Rush; I wouldn’t say the same for Fox.
