Five planners of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks were arraigned on Sunday before a military tribunal at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba. The 13-hour proceeding was a theatrical farce, which unfortunately gives a taste of things to come.
The five terrorist defendants - Ramzi Binalshibh, Walid bin Attash, Mustafa Ahmad al-Hawsawi, Ammar al-Baluchi and reputed mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed - face 2,976 counts of terrorism and capital murder for their role in the 9/11 attacks. The arraignment was the first step in a lengthy process of trial and appeal that is likely to stretch for years, if the arraignment is any indication.
The defense team made full use of every procedural delaying tactic available. The defendants ignored instructions from the judge, would not listen to translations of the proceedings over headphones, slept, passed around magazines and were generally disrespectful. Cheryl Bormann, counsel for Walid bin Attash, appeared in a black hijab even though she is not a Muslim. She requested that the judge order other women present, particularly on the prosecution team, to dress in similar attire. She said she was concerned the defendants might have to avert their eyes “for fear of committing a sin under their faith.”
The defense also complained that its clients were not allowed to wear their garb of choice, though Mohammed appeared resplendent in white, wearing a turban and with his flowing beard streaked with red henna, a powder intended to make hair silkier. Those who denounced the Guantanamo detainee facility as the “American gulag” might research whether Stalin supplied Soviet prisoners with hair care products.

Agreed...These terrorists should have been executed years ago. They wanted to be martyrs, we should have obliged them.
While I respect our sense of fairness in judicial proceedings, I have absolutely no clue why why the details of this trial are being broadcast to the world. Let it take two years, whatever. Why not maintain a media blackout until then and then dump the records, every record that was part of the trial, out at once. Let the sniveling haters sort through it then rather than getting the chance to make our freedoms look like a weakness at each and every hearing.
Better option would be to drop them off in a remote part of the ocean and let them swim to freedom... Personal opinion of course.

What do we expect? These people don’t respect the laws of the United States, and refuse to acknowledge its authority over them. That’s the cause they’ve decided to die for, just respect their wishes and be done with it.
The obvious response is to have every woman in to dress in the most stylish and alluring garb within professional standards.
Their true judge has been scheduled.

What law firms are involved?
How much of their resources are they devoting to this?
Is there a legal defense fund?
American military that are court martialed pay their own civilian attorney fees but are assigned military JAG lawyers.

I dig! My idea was to throw them out of a C-130 at 10,000 ft and let them enjoy the ultimate horror of awaiting certain death upon terrestrial impact as they fell. But that’s what happened to their 9-11 victims, isn’t it?
This saves flying hour costs and is even cheaper & more brutally effective. The HUMVEE solution exacts slow excruciating justice for their barbaric atrocities. Their wicked flesh & bone battered into smelly garbage and denied Islamic burial. So let it be written, so let it be done!
Oh... and insure that it’s all videotaped for family members’ closure.
