UK: Police accused of failing to investigate paedophile gang for fear of appearing racist
The Telegraph ^ | 5/8/2012 | Nigel Bunyan

Police and social workers were last night accused of failing to investigate an Asian paedophile gang for fear of being perceived as racist, allowing them to prey on up to 50 young white girls.

The nine men from Rochdale were yesterday convicted of abusing five vulnerable teenagers after plying them with alcohol, food and small sums of money in return for sex.

However, the true number of victims, who were "passed around" by the gang, is likely to be nearer to 50, police have admitted.

Greater Manchester Police and the Crown Prosecution Service have now apologised after they failed to bring the case of the first victim - Girl A - to trial following her cry for help in August 2008.

One 13 year-old victim became pregnant and had the child aborted while another was forced to have sex with 20 men in one night, Liverpool Crown Court heard.

Complaints to social workers and the police were ignored because they were "petrified of being called racist", former Labour MP for Keighley Ann Cryer said.

Mrs Cryer, who has campaigned to bring the issue of Asian sex gangs to light, said the girls had been "betrayed" and condemned to "untold misery" by the police and social services.

"This is an absolute scandal. They were petrified of being called racist and so reverted to the default of political correctness," she said.

"They had a greater fear of being perceived in that light than in dealing with the issues in front of them."

Girl A told police that she had been raped and provided DNA evidence from her attacker, however the CPS twice decided not to prosecute him.

The 15 year-old's abuse continued and at its height she was being driven to flats and houses to be raped by

Mohammed’s devotees, just doing their rape jihad as called for in the Quran. The higher the percentage of Muslims in a country, the higher the percentage of violence. Islam should be declared a hate crime and banned.

Can your average UK person just go to the gun shop and buy one? Can everybody keep a gun at home if they want? Can you buy good protection shotgun rounds such as 00 buck? Do you have to be a member of a shooting/hunting club to own one a shotgun or rifle there? Can you actually use your rifle/shotgun to defend family or property without going to prison? Just curious. I was in Germany many years and did quite a bit of shooting there. The Germans had many restrictions on owning guns such as club membership requirements, limits on how many rifles/shotguns you could have, certificates, some had to store their weapons at a club, etc. I did know one German Dad who had many guns in his house with almost zero restrictions. He was also a high ranking Polizei official. The vast majority of Dads in Germany don’t have a gun. Is the UK similar?

Perhaps I am misinformed but I read somewhere that the Violent Crime Reduction Bill (2006)raised the minimum age to buy any knife from 16 to 18. That sounds regulated to me.

What an insult to Asians! These thugs are NOT Asian!

Yes they are. Take a look at any world map showing the continents: Asia extends from the Middle East (and that includes Israel and Turkey for example) to Japan. OTOH, 'muslim' is not a suitable descriptor for geographic origin.

well, ok, so arabs are “asians” according to the US military and I know “oriental studies” includes Bible stuff, but colloquially, “asian” designation doesn’t include arabs. If the police won’t investigate “asians” I am thinking chinese mafia, vietnamese mafia, not arabs.....whatever

“Asian” means Pakistani, Indian, etc.

I’m still trying to figure out when “Islam” became a race.

I think, in Brit-speak, the top picture are “Orientals.”

If the police were afraid of political fallout, it was probably with good reason. The housecleaning needs to start with the political Establishment there, as well as the upper police hierarchy.

Yes, and they are either stored at a club or at home, unloaded and/or disassembled, and locked up separately from the the ammo.

I have a four pistols, three shotguns, three rifles, and couple of wall hangers. All of them are stored in a locked gun cabinet with a glass front (if I’m in a hurry, I’ll break it!) along with the ammo, some of it in “ready” magazines.
Most of them are unloaded, but two, a pistol and a repeating shotgun, are my “home defense” weapons and stored loaded and ready for access (with or without breaking the glass). Can you do that?

Didn’t think so.

At this point, islam is raping the U.K., which refuses to name the rapist or even admit that it is being raped.

Also at this point, the U.S. is being groomed by islam.

I’ve heard that before. Sounds as plausible as anything else. Either way they’re toast.

I don’t recall saying I could, I merely corrected an assertion that shotguns were illegal in the UK.

Yes, but not handguns. Yes, if they have a gun licence. Yes. No and yes respectively.

The vast majority of UK residents don’t own a gun now and didn’t before the handgun ban and it is extremely rare for criminals to use guns in the UK as demonstrated by the fact that our 60m population country averages fewer than 50 gun homicides per annum despite a largely unarmed police force. Ultimately comparing gun laws between the UK and US is pointless as they are very different countries and the UK electorate just don’t like guns and won’t vote for pro-gun politicians. When I lived in the US I was very pro-gun and the right to own a gun is very important there, but not here.

My guns are either kept here in my office or out in the land rover if I’m out and about on the farm and the local police are pretty relaxed about it as they know me.

It’s regulated for minors, not anyone else. Purchasing alcohol under the age of 21 is regulated in most of the US but that doesn’t mean everyone else can’t buy a beer.

Since anyone over 18 with a clean record can buy a rifle in the US, do you consider that not regulated either?
