Arizona high school forfeits championship game rather than face girl opponent
Fox News ^ | 5-10-2012 | Joshua Rhett Miller

A state championship high school baseball game is over before tonight's first pitch, after one Arizona team forfeited rather than play an opponent with a girl in the lineup.

Our Lady of Sorrows refused to play Mesa Preparatory Academy in Thursday’s scheduled Arizona Charter Athletic Association state championship game, because that team has Paige Sultzbach at second base. The 15-year-old agreed to sit out a pair of regular season victories over Our Lady of Sorrows, which is run by the Society of St. Pius X, an traditionalist church that broke away from Roman Catholic Church over Vatican reforms in 1970. But with everything on the line tonight, Sultzbach wasn't willing to stay glued to the bench — even if it means no game at all.

-snip-

In a statement to FoxNews.com, an Our Lady of Sorrows official said the school had no choice but to forfeit because it has a strict policy prohibiting participation in co-ed athletics and believes in "forming and educating boys and girls" separately.

“Teaching our boys to treat ladies with deference, we choose not to place them in an athletic competition where proper boundaries can only be respected with difficulty,” the statement read. "Our school aims to instill in our boys a profound respect for women and girls."

All the women in my life routinely put their male colleagues to shame in intellectual capacity as well as the tennis court.

That's fine. In turn, I pretty much put all of my female colleagues to shame intellectually. Though, I'll grant, I don't put them to shame on the tennis court, since I don't play tennis, never having cared much for the sport.

I’ll give Elaine a pass on knowing the first thing about the military, but I’m sure as heck not going to give you one for comparing Jessica Lynch’s capture to a girl playing second place. That is beyond stupid. And as for sending my girls into combat, if they chose to be a naval aviator and fly an F-35 over enemy lines, I would be the proudest dad in the world. But you don’t think women can handle it, so that would never happen, right?

“Perhaps it is the fool who feels like he can’t simply let people make decisions for themselves, for whatever reason they choose, who is actually the idiot?”

Exactly. So you and I both agree that the coach who prevented is entire team from playing is, like you, a bigot.

“This nonsense about women being physical equal with men is simply bilious mental masturbation.”

It’s almost as if you think someone here claimed that. Then, you project your mental masturbation on others. Hilarious, you are.

So, one summer eigth grade boys in lax camp and also at same place high school girls in lax camp. Lax is different with boys and girls. Boys have stick contact and smash into one another. Girls don’t. Boys have pads and helmets. Girls don’t. Girls challenged boys to a game by girls’ no contact rules. No safety equipment. Male camp leaders tell boys, no contact. Camp leaders tell girls, beat them with your sticks as much as you like.

I pick up the boys at camp in my van. They are bruised and have cuts on heads and faces. I demand to know what the hell happened and they explained the girls cheated.

I flew out of van armed with lax stick. I go to men and scream - “what the He!! happened here?” They explain. I want to know why they did not cancle game. They would be ashamed to run from the girls team. They promise it will never happen again. They are ashamed and promise it will never happen again.

I move on to women team leaders and they start laughing. I put the stick over my head and say “ Good you think it is funny to be beaten by a lax stick. Let’s see!” I swing and barely miss on purpose and they run. I chase them and they are screaming. One is crying. I cussed a lot. Men laugh at the tuff girls.

I go back to the van and yell at the boys for not calling off the game and for getting hurt. I tell tem they are in charge of themselves and each other when azzhats are in charge. I call all the parents. Camp cancelled.

Feminazis are pure animals when it comes to competing with boys. Boys who are raised right won’t be as brutal with girls as they are with boys. Not the other way around. I don’t want boys beating up on girls. I don’t want feminazis bring about that “change.”

I think it is more disturbing encouraging women to compete with men physically or in any other fashion.

I was responding to the poster who said that co-ed athletics were an invention of Karl Marx. No one here, at no time made any claim that men and women are physically equal.

Maybe you should get a clue and read the entire thread next time, tough guy. And yes, she's spiked on guys in our social league. At no time was anyone here referring to professional or highly skilled leagues, although there doesn't seem to be any shortage of faux experts like yourself waiting for the chance to chime in about how big and bad they are.

Your examples remind me of something from back when I was in college. Now, I’m not a big guy - 5’7”, and back then I probably weighted around 190-200 lbs., most of it muscle because I worked out, but I wasn’t exactly a hulk or anything. Well, there was this girl who lives in my dorm who was one of these sporty types, into athletics, and had the “grrrrrls can do anything a man can do” mentality. She also didn’t like me very much because I’d stumped her in some arguments down in the lobby a few times. So, one evening, she decided she was going to try to embarrass me by wrestling me down and pinning me in front of my friends, which she thought she could do because she took tai kwan do (sp?) as well as playing basketball and lacross. Well, I had her down and pinned, with her fighting with everything she had (she came out of it soaking wet with sweat), in about 15 seconds. I wasn’t even really putting that much effort into it. I finally let her up with the firm admonition to be more careful the next time.

If nothing else, this thread has amply demonstrated that there are a lot of FReepers who don’t understand the first thing about statistics as it relates to human biodiversity.

For instance, we have the guy posting a link to an article about an obviously extreme, extreme, extreme right end of the bell curve female freak of nature, and acting as if this example somehow translates into complete physical gender equality. Needless to say, men who are in a similar position (Olympic weightlifters) still outlift this female by quite a lot.

Nevertheless, the fact of the matter is that while there may be some overlap of the bell curves between men and women in various physical abilities, the male bell curve is still significantly to the right from the female bell curve. In other words, most men will be stronger and faster than most women, even if you can point to some individual example of a woman you knew who could outrun all the guys she knew or who could slam dunk on the dudes she played pickup ball with. The individual example does not negate the statistical truth.

Just look at the Olympics and other top end sports venues. The scores for the men in any particular type of race are still faster than those of the women in commensurate contests. Of course, there is also a reason why, when fire and police departments have to hire more women to meet gender quotas, they inevitably will have to lower the physical standards required for the job.

Sorry folks, but acknowledging gender differences is not “sexism,” nor is it “gender bigotry.” It’s simply acknowledging the way things are.

They’re not depriving anyone of anything. The girl team won.

Jeff - I believe you are being disingenuous. I cannot for a moment that you believe that a forfeit under these circumstances is equivalent to a win on the field. No athlete ever would.

The SERE trainers added that the entire nation would have to be conditioned to accept combat violence against women.

You're already there.

And, in turn, you’ve just revealed yourself as a degenerate piece of shit. Congratulations!

Why? Because I'm smarter than the women I work with?

I didn't realise that intelligence made someone a "degenerate piece of ****."

Though, I might observe that if this is the case, you needn't worry about ever being a "degenerate piece of ****," so you can breath easy.

While only an idiot would declare that there is no difference between man and woman (and those who would declare otherwise, please pick a man to go produce a child from his womb..), my part in this was to defend the freedom of association, and the guts it takes to actually do such a thing in this climate of hysteria.

I absolutely believe that people have the God given right to be as much of a fool as they wish, with others who want to be equally foolish. And will continue to defend that right.

Actually, I’m interpreting Hot Tabasco’s comments in #124 along that line, since he’s claiming “gender equality” in the context of participation in sports.

I have no idea how a story about you almost choking out some girl relates to what I was saying.

I was defending co-ed sports in social and intramural leagues as fun and in no way anti-woman against two people who were saying that co-ed sports were a tool of Marxism and that women are at all times too weak to defend themselves in the real world.

Check it out for yourself in post #19 and #109, and maybe pay better attention next time.

Because there’s total moral equivalency between a private school which chooses to conduct their business in a certain manner with specific standards which applies just to their student body vs Islamic radicals who force everyone to follow their views.

<><>><<><

Well, try to bear in mind also that this private school which chooses to conduct their business in a certain manner with specific standards had absolutely no problem playing this exact same team with the exact same roster as long as the gentleman’s agreement that she would not play was honored. It was only when the young lady was going to actually play that it became an issue. Those are some principles, eh?
