Poll puts Walker up nine in recall fight; Update: WI Dems “furious” with DNC over lack of support

Now that Democrats have ended their divisive recall primary in Wisconsin, one would expect the polling to show their nominee to be gaining some traction against sitting Governor Scott Walker. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was considered the stronger of the Democrats challenging Walker in the unusual recall election, and polls just after the recall showed him nearly within the margin of error of the incumbent. This week, however, a new poll from We Ask America of over 1200 likely voters puts Walker on top by nine, 52/43:

While other polls also show Walker in the lead, no one is suggesting that this race is anywhere near over. Walker only leads among self-described Independent voters by 47.6%-44.6%, and the underlying numbers seem fluid. Still, some of Walker’s detractors have been vocal about the fact that Walker was duly elected in 2010 and in most states would not be able to be challenged with a recall without greater cause. And a whopping 95% of those called said they plan to vote in the June 5th election which will have the national spotlight on it.

Ha, ha, ha! Leftist public employee union / ‘Rat flop. DNC won’t give ‘em cash because Bathhouse Barry is soaking up all of it for his re-election campaign.

I hope all clear-thinking people in Wisconsin realize how important this race is going to be not just for Wisconsin, but for the entire country.

Walker must prevail on this one.

“WI Dems “furious” with DNC over lack of support”

Ha Ha. The DNC is probably scared to death their Presidential candidate will wind up where he belongs in November like his Marxists predecessors all over the world - in the dutbin of history!!! So they aren’t sparing dough for local issues. This should encourage US to work and campaign and contribute to those COngressional conservative candidates who will hold Romney’s feet to the fire in 2013!

Walker will probably win in a blowout, and with the breaking of the union power, Wisconsin moves into the republican column, probably for some time. Like West Virginia.

good to see the rats are in a no win situation...if they:

1) support Walker’s opponent and lose it will be another strike again the rats serving in DC as well as obozo and a predictor of things to come- despite the spin...

2) don’t support Walker’s opponents and lose, their base will be pissed off at them....

I live in Wisconsin so I can give a first hand observation, at least of yard signs.

"Stand with Walker" yard signs are dominant, I would say 10 to 1, in rural areas. After all, farmers are self-reliant.

In town ... as we say ... the newer, fresher, crisper yard signs are "Stand with Walker". They are popping up like blue dandelions. The old orange "Recall Walker" yard signs look like they barely survived last winter's snow plow.

“We are frustrated by the lack of support from the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Governors Association,” a top Wisconsin Democratic Party official tells me.

Say hello to the bottom of little bammy's bus...

Obama is going to expect and demand that the DNC throw everyone else under the bus if that’s what it takes to get him re-elected.

Even an evil b*st*rd like George Soros knows when to cut his losses and move on to a fight which he has a chance to actually win.

I'm hoping Scott Walker cruises to a double digit win. He's definitely presidential material.

Here is a prediction from the president of a union local, me.
In about a week to ten days, if these numbers hold, you will start to see the union leadership of unions representing members in the private sector starting to talk with Governor Walker. They won’t necessarily endorse him but they will provide little if any support for Barrett. The public employee unions, SEIU, AFSCME, they will be with Barrett to the bitter end.

Union money-if this poll is correct, a lot of union money is going to dry up. The money will go elsewhere. I disagree with some FR’s comments about money-with this large of a lead, the unions will not in fact dump more money and more effort to try to win. We may be at the point where they simply cut their losses.

I’d asked this earlier, is Walker only subject to one recall election per term, or can the RATS gin another or more up?

And the award for the ballsiest gall in the recall election:

Mike Tate, Dem Party of WI spokesperson, across the street from a Walker campaign stop today criticized Walker for being in campaign mode like a rock star and not fulfilling his duties for the State.

I loathe that man, but I hope he sticks around as head of the DPW for a LONG time.

To me, Scott Walker is a real-life hero. My family has been on the other side of unions, and it's an experience like no other. I remember my own father being accompanied by sheriff's deputies carrying automatic weapons just to get him into his office during a union demonstration. Labor bosses have enough money and legal horsepower to do just about anything and get away with it.

Good for you, Governor Scott! America needs more men like you.

Walker is up by 9 among all voters but only up three among independents. Isn’t WI a blue state? I don’t get it.
