President Obama tops Republican Mitt Romney in a head-to-head matchup, according to the latest Fox News poll, which finds American voters feeling more positive about the economy.
Obama would have an advantage of 46 percent to 39 percent over Romney, if the election were held today. Three weeks ago the candidates were tied at 46 percent each.
The national poll, released Wednesday, shows the presidents lead is just outside the polls margin of sampling error.

8 pts. 42D-34R
Rasmussen and IBD/TIPP are most accurate election after election. IBD has obama up by 3 and rasmussen has romney up by 7. Big problem for obama is both polls have substantial leads among independents for romney
Take out those that are ‘sucking’ off the governments tits and Obama would be at 5%.
The economy stinks, gas prices are more that doubled from 2008, foreclosures are at an all time high, our country is continually being invaded by third world illegals, etc... and to imagine that this presidential race should even be close is SCARY!!!
The battle hasn’t even really begun. It’s on the horizon, but that’s all.
Now, the question is, will Romney engage or is he going to McCainChicken-out?
From your lips to the “wishful thinking” god’s ears.
Fox News “stupid and worthless”
Okay, let’s do a poll right here. We have 300,000 plus people, much bigger sample. How many feel better about the economy?
It’s tragic that the media attacked Cheney but doesn’t attack Biden. WTF is up with that? Biden is a gaffe-prone, incompetent and psychotic loose canon. It’s pathetic he’s even allowed to set foot in our White House (let alone Obama and the hundreds of his communist friends who sought to ‘CHANGE’ America’s form of government to a ‘National Socialist’ State).
In October 2008 no one could convince me that this country would ever elect this looser. Nothing this electorate does will surprise me now.
Ras has Romney only up by 1 (was up 8 couple of days ago). Gallup has it exactly even.
Ras is Likely Voters... Gallup is Registered Voters
Ya gotta remember. This is FOX news. Barry is their boy.
300,000 at FR? With apologies to JimRob, I would have thought there are n I more than 10,000 or less active members... Though it’s clearly just a guess
Do you know the previous breakdown? Thnx
Although the Virginia primary was a royal screwup for everybody the turnout was at an historic low.
This is a primary that is totally open to everybody except the candidates. They have to get lots and lots of phony-baloney nominating petitions. You can just walk in either party's primary with NO prior party registration at all. In fact, we don't even have party registration.
In a normal Presidential primary you can get up to 1.5 million voters out. Romney got about 9% of that amount.
Obviously there was no Democrat contest, but the Democrats didn't even bother showing up.
I think any situation where you have a candidate who the party big dogs think is going to be the party standard bearer can't get MORE THAN 25% of the normal party vote then things are pretty doggone fishy.
Or, face it, Romney has no real following ~ just big money guys.
Most of them seem to be homosexual activists though.
It's all really fishy ~ beyond belief.
If this continues and the combined popularity of Romney and Obama continues to seek toward the nether regions of politics, it'd be a really good idea for the RNC and the DNC to think of getting DIFFERENT CANDIDATES.
Well then, they must have used the promotion of Romney to promote 0bama because I quit watching FOX over 3 months ago via disgust with the 24 hour/day Romney fest that they broadcast without quantification of why, less "he's not 0bama".
A stupid poll, it was only registered voters and 40 percent of the registered voters don’t show up!
No conventions yet and they are playing with this election race. Stupid.
