President Obama said that his policies would cause the cost of electricity to skyrocket. Well, it has, but not only because of Obama.

Never thought I’d see a 1100 squarefoot mobile home generate a 140 dollar electric bill between heating and cooling seasons (you know... the 3 or 4 weeks between Minnesotas two seasons. To flipping hot and to flipping cold)
But we did!
And I just replaced all of our 15+ year old electric appliances save the water heater. That is going gas.
Honestly with a 25 dollar gas bill I wonder if a natural gas genset would not be cheaper to run.
All part of the plan to destroy the middle class and let them know that the only way to get ahead is getting grants from the almighty government.

My bill last month was $87 for 2400 sf, all-electric home, everyone home all day, TVs and computers and appliances running.
0 will mess it up if he can.

Green Energy, hmmmmmmmmm - - - - - - . Yeah! I saw some yesterday! There it was just basking in the Sun nice and tidy on a green carpet of Bermuda Grass.
I heard a deep noise, turned around and more handy-sized dull green energy packets were falling on the green pasture.
By carefully walking around other drying packets of green energy I found one that had dried out enough to be shipped by air to 1600 Plantation Avenue, in the District of Corruption.
If any of y’all want to send Obama some of these green energy packets from a pasture near you, just make sure that all the water is out of these green energy packets, so that the TSA screeners at the airports will approve and then ship your packets by fossil fueled Jet planes.
The nice thing about these magnificent meadow muffins of green energy is that they last a lifetime if you don’t get them wet.
Yep, all ya gotta do is add water! Well, be careful to not let them hit a fan, or a fan of green energy.

It’s an arithmetic problem & you have to factor in the cost of the generator. Utilities have information about making such calculations for all appliances.
I just looked it up: Minnesota generators 59% of its electricity with coal. If Obama is re-elected, I’d make sure I had some sort of >wood burning stove for heat.
It’s possible to live through hot weather in Minnesota without air conditioning. But it’s impossible to make through a cold Minnesota winter without heat, unless you hibernate like a bear.
Modern heaters using natural-gas ALSO require electricity to operate. Obama is working to destroy energy production in the USA. Plan for the worse.
There are products for a ‘cool roof’ or solar heat reflective paint. Do your >research; solar-reflective-paint on your mobile home can act like a big shade tree & help keep your mobile home cool.
(There are bogus products being sold now that do NOT work quite the way you would want them to work. For example: some folks put an ‘insulating paint’ on their roof when they have an open attic. The roof keeps off the rain. To put ‘insulating paint on such a roof would be like putting ‘insulating paint’ on an umbrella & expecting it to help keep you warm. Such paint if it reflects heat will help in that regards but not with insulating.)
The radiant heat from the sun would be reflected off the mobile home by a solar reflective paint. It’s sort of like standing under a shade tree on a 100 degree day. It’s still very hot under the tree but it’s not as bad as standing in direct sunlight. (In the winter the ‘warm sun heat’ is also reflected but usually there is NOT that much heating done by the sun in wintertime Minnesota.)
Also, use water to keep cool if there is a power outage. Just putting your feet in a tub of water for 1/2 hour will cool down your entire body.
Down south, folks go & ‘beat their feet on the Mississippi River mud’ to keep cool on a hot humid day. At least in the old-songs.
Look up ‘solar porches’ they can help create a warm spot in the winter. I actually lived in an old ‘shack’ that had a homemade solar porch; it worked just fine. But I live where there be cactus, sticker bushes & tumble-weeds that do be tumbling.
Someday I’ll get started on my book: “Al Gore-The man who would scam the world” Say what you will about the psychopath, but it’s mind boggling how he gets away with this crap. I mean think about it: The percentage of CO2 in the earths atmosphere is only 0.04%! It’s freakin zero! Zero point zero! And Methane is even more ridiculous, only 0.00017% Yet he has billions of people believing in this sh*t to the point where they are willing to destroy their entire economy. By God how does he do it? It’s the media, plain and simple. Water vapor is the main culprit of global warming, it’s what made Venus a greenhouse planet, but this guy was slick enough to get people to ignore that and go for the gases released by industry even though it’s completely harmless.
Mobile homes are not very efficient to heat or cool due to poor insulation.

We live in the woods. No central heat or air. In the winter we have a fireplace insert for heat. Our electric bill is $198.00 a month! Of course we live in California, but still!
Not true. OLD mobile homes are not properly insulated. Mine has 2X6 walls with R21, floors with R30 and ceilings with R49. Except for sitting on a metal frame (that can be removed. mine is foundation ready) this house is built just like a regular brick and mortar house.

That’s great ! The last one I looked at in CA they built with 2x3 walls and insulation was about R10. Maybe new ones in CA are better than that too.
If your electric is only 11 cents, then I’m envious. In CA, we have tiered pricing — the more you use the higher the rate — and my annual average is about 18 cents per kwh.

You should see our electric bills in NC....in the counties that are stuck with “electricities”. Apparently we are paying for bad decisions made by our elected officials many years back. Just about all I know get bills upwards of $400 in the summer with most averaging around $500-$600 PER MONTH [and HIGHER]!
We just finished re-insulating our older home...spent big money putting extra fancy insulation in our attic, replaced all the vinyl on the house with new, PLUS insulation foam board, and new windows......I have ALL gas appliances...and my electic bill still tops over $300 per month! And that does NOT count the gas bill which is propane [no natural gas lines running out in the county where we live].
Btw, my house is about 1600 sq ft. I dont know what we will do if Obamas energy plans ever take effect? We have cut back everywhere we can, done all we can do to improve yet our bill is still too high [IMO]. :-(

I live here too. You should see my electric and water! If i water the grass my water bill is close to $100. I lived in tbe desert with a pool and never had a water bill over $60! We have a gas pack for downstairs and electric only upstairs. I just never bothered to turn the upstairs on this winter. Last winter my bills were over $500 for both and we were still freezing to death.

What the hell? The environmentalists are taking the power companies to court to remove dams that generate power and apparently they have won and now we are paying for their removal. A total of $1.10 a month, for how long?
Our natural gas company (Center Point Energy) has tiered pricing. The more you use the higher rate per unit you pay. The state is thinking about going after them. They don’t take anything in to account like age of the home, size of the home, medical needs..
If you use more than X, you pay this..
Walmart and other large department stores get hit with the high rate no matter what since it’s based on a 1000 square foot home and what they think you should be using.
Mobile home instructional changed in the late 80’s when they started following normal building codes.
