It’s amazing what a few competitive polls can do to concentrate the mind.
Democrats had taken comfort for months in the Republican Party’s seeming inability to get behind Mitt Romney, Obama’s healthy lead in the polls, and equally healthy job growth. And for a few, fleeting, moments, Democrats thought the election might just be easy. But Republican division appears to have been merely an artifact of primary politics, and Mitt Romney has proved a consistent, if unglamorous campaigner…
“There was this sense maybe a month or two ago that Obama was really riding high — that he had gotten his base behind him and the economy was doing better and it had this Clinton vs. Bob Dole 1996 feeling — that he was going to cruise,” said one 2008 Obama aide who does not work for this year’s campaign. “And now it feels like it’s going to be really tough — a 2004 race.”
Indeed the campaign is shaping up to be a close-combat battle for one percent of swing voters in a few hundred precincts across three or four states…
Moreover, a campaign that two months ago seemed infallible has proven to be very capable of making mistakes. Obama’s aides were taken aback when Vice President Joe Biden publicly backed same sex marriage — and spent a week punishing him for speaking out in the press. Long preparation for attacks on Romney’s time at Bain Capital, aimed at changing the narrative, nevertheless left them flat-footed when Republicans (and even a few Democrats) counter-attacked. Romney, who stumbled into the Republican nomination, scored his first tactical victory of the general election and further shored up the Republican base in the process.

Ms. Fluke, were you aware that ordinary birth control pills were a ten dollar item at WalMart these days? Also, were you aware that doing it with fifty or a hundred guys doesn't require fifty or a hundred times the number of pills........
Obama and his leftist band of traitors are going to screw her many more times than the screwing she's getting by being a slut. She, like many Americans, won't get it until it's too late. Our FIRST Muslim President is counting on outright stupidity, in her case, Obama will not be disappointed.
I had to stop watching her when she attacked the shrink DOc, then I came back and saw that every day in the last two weeks she has been harping on about homosexual marriage, cutting those off if they oppose that agenda and never questioning those on the left.
Agreed, she has become a massive disappointment and what stuns my wife and I is when we hear a couple of dopey men say they don't care they see her legs or what ever and so they will watch just for that.

It’s VERY scary. When my daughter, who works in a hotbed of liberals told me she thought Obama would win, a cold terror hit my heart.
It made me want to go and get an Elect Romney sign for my yard and I may do just that.
Amen to that Ed. He was the one candidate who never stumbled.
I doubt there is a single person on FR who was originally for Mitt. I was for Perry.
Now I doubt if there is a single sane person on FR who is NOT for Mitt.
He’s all that stands between us and the purgatory of Obama.
And don’t even try consoling yourself with a Republican house and senate. Obama can get around them in various crooked ways and he would.
I know. I never watch Megyn Kelly any more. Why does she look so stern and cranky all the time? I used to like her.
I set my DVR to tape Fox and Friends every morning. You get all the news, a lot of guests—some funny, some informative ... have three hosts, all conservative, all likeable.
I told my husband this morning that they are my Best Friends.

Well, I am a self-described "rabid conservative" ... but my question is, do we really want conservatives to blamed for the nasty stuff that's about to happen because we occupy the White House.
And, if we control the Senate we force Obama to continue to trash the separation of powers and expose himself to the serious possibility of impeachment.
It all brings to mind the old addage ... "Watch what you wish for!"
