Career Politicians Think Living within Your Means is “Extreme”

The Tea Party Patriots, the nation’s largest tea party organization, today blasted Vice President Biden and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for bashing ordinary Americans who believe in governmental fiscal responsibility.

Jenny Beth Martin, Co-founder and National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots, reacted strongly to accusations that the Tea Party Movement bears responsibility for the financial crisis facing our nation:

“Only entrenched career politicians in Washington, D.C., would think living within your means is ‘extreme.’ What is truly extreme are the lengths Vice President Biden and Sen. Reid will go to blame everyone else for their lack of courage to lead this nation out of the financial wreckage they helped create. What is extreme is a Senate that refuses to pass a budget for three straight years. What is extreme is accelerating the nation’s financial troubles by refusing to cut government spending. What is extreme is a Congress, a President and a Vice President that don’t have the courage to lead this nation back to economic prosperity. Dysfunction and overspending is troubling and extreme.

The Vice President and Senator Reid are now screaming that Americans are ‘extremists’ for demanding fiscal responsibility. Is there a better example of how distorted and divisive this Administration and Congress have become in the national debate?

There used to be a time in America when spending money you didn’t have was frowned upon. Mr. Biden and Reid’s combined 64 years in Washington has clouded their ability to understand that a $15 trillion deficit and no budget is extreme mismanagement.”

The blame game is ramping up in DC to try and put the blame on us when Congress reaches its debt ceiling AGAIN without having done ANYTHING to stop the problems caused by its own dereliction of duty.

If placing the blame on an organization formed solely for the purpose of fixing government strikes you as extreme, please let us know you’re with us because it’s going to get pretty ugly before it gets pretty in DC.

If we live within our means they cannot “help us” and buy our votes.

Never has it been more important to vote capable people into the Senate in order to vote down the U.N.”s Agenda 21! those career politicians now in the Senate will vote it in! So we must vote them out!

The key change would be to stop rewarding seniority with higher positions.

let’s look at the govt as a normal person and see how their financial statement looks.

annual income: $2 trillion
annual spending: $7 trillion
outstanding debt: $15.5 trillion

the $7 trillion comes from last years $5 trillion deficit, implying the $2 trillion wasn’t enough.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2887686/posts

putting this in terms us ‘little folk’ could relate to:

annual income: $50k
annual spending: $175k
outstanding debt: $362k

do you think you’d be financially stable with that kind of balance sheet?

and if you needed to get a loan, do you think a normal bank would consider you a good risk? hardly. you’d be stuck going to loan sharks...

and how do you think that ends when the sharks realize you cannot repay?

I don’t need a formal “Tea Party” to look after my interests. I get dozens of emails from supposed true Tea Party interests asking for money. I also hear selected ‘selectees’ on the radio about “Tea Party” this or that. I didn’t elect a damned on of them.

I will continue to support “tea party” sentiment (notice the lower case) with my vote and activism. As far as the money goes, I never heard of any of them.

I can not see why gold is down. All of these Governments are going to continue to spend more then can be brought in thus debasing their currency. The slide of hand that has been going on for 40 years is pretty will at its end game. Passing the debt has been like a game of Old Maid only when the this game is over everyone is going to have the Old Maid.

"I can not see why gold is down. "

I suspect the slowdown in China might have something to do with it. Within the past 15 years, China went from forbidding private ownership to world's largest consumer of gold after India. A lot of the rise in the price of gold in that time period was because of this, and now that China is starting to feel the pinch, I suspect that many of them are getting less hungry for gold as a result...
