I forgive you. :) I seem to recall reading something about ‘seventy times seven’.

Keep fighting the good fight!

Hey joe - you make sure you call Mrs. Reagan right up and inform her that: (a) she supports socialism, (b) she is an enemy of the Republic, and (c) she is turning her back on the American people!

Then post her response here so all us “socialism supporters” can read it.

So, by your logic then, the only acceptable conservative president since Cal Coolidge has been Reagan. Yes, I know you didn’t include George W. Bush on your little list there, but I’m going to assume you agree with the gentleman who keeps referring to the “Rove/Rockerfeller” wing of the GOP...and last I checked, Rove and W. are pretty tight, so not sure how we keep W off that list. We heard all the same “polo club, daddy got him the job” crapola in his election....so he’s got to be on your list too! So, whats a conservative to do? Either we keep waiting for some mythical third party to emerge, sit on our hands and let the Dems wreck the country, or we vote GOP (and before you tell me how Romney will wreck it too, that is speculation. Obama is wrecking it right now. I’ll take might wreck it over is wrecking it any day).

I’ll also point out that if most conservatives hadn’t gone along with the GOP candidate, however flawed, we would have had the likes of President McGovern, President Dukakis, President Kerry. Which of these elections should the conservatives put their foot down for? Which of these boobs should we have let run the country for 4 years to make the point clear to the establishment. Its really easy to snipe the weak GOP candidates....its really hard to live with the jackals that would win if you dont vote for them.

And you can say I’m “pimping for Romney”, and I guess you are right...damn right....when the opposition is a marxist. Thats the part of the equation that you guys never seem to want to discuss. One of these guys is going to be President. Once again, you’ve done a grrrreat job there of telling us all how bad Romney is. I get it. In your book Romney eats babies and puppies. And though you make fun of me for it, I’ll say it again...I’m not nuts about the guy either. But with regards to the alternative, specifically what we could do at this point that would A)not result in 4 more years of Obama but B) also vanquish the hated, smoke room dealing, evil big money Romney....crickets. Because there isn’t another answer now. During the primaries yeah. But now....no. Its going to be Romney or Obama. With that choice, I’ll take Romney, given that “neither” is a choice equivilent of saying “I’ll take Santa Claus”.

You are pimping for Romney.

Do you think that Herbert Hoover did a better job than Al Smith would have done? That may explain WHY you are pimping for Romney.

One can understand that you may not be familiar with what an airhead Alf Landon was but I would refer you to his daughter former US Senator Nancy Landon Kassebaum Baker who did her part to destroy the social fabric of our country as a baby-killing social revolutionary from Kansas, no less and then married Panama Canal Zone Treaty treasonweasel Howard Baker.

Wendell Willke was probably the single most inept excuse for a GOP candidate on the list. A Democrat at the beginning of 1940 when he was nominated by the GOP-E, his one and only qualification was that he was RICH!!! FDR was richer. So much for that argument.

Tom Dewey: The little man on the wedding cake. Originally from Michigan, he had become the Manhattan District Attorney. Can you spell silk stocking?

Eisenhower: Asked to run as a Democrat in 1952 by no less an authority than Harry Truman, Eisenhower shrewdly figured that the public was eager to change parties after 20 years of FDR and HST. He called himself a "modern" Republican which means a Democrat in GOP drag. He "consolidated" the "gains" of the FDR/HST era by institutionalizing everything they did wrong. He was not a fighting general but a bureaucrat. He was president of Columbia University just before seeking the presidency and probably imagined himself an intellectual by osmosis. He was an enemy of all things conservative in the GOP and of most things conservative in the USA. Think: SCOTUS nominations of Earl Warren as CJ and William Brennn as AJ and you can get a foretaste of the Myth to come.

Barry M. Goldwater was no Rockefellerite as is evidenced by the epic struggle of 1964. He was also no more socially conservative than Rockefeller and probably less so. His wife Peggy served on the national board of directors of Planned Barrenhood from about 1940 until her death in 1975. Barry bragged about taking his daughter Susan for an abortion and about his support for various homosexual relatives and that anyone who did not like his social issue views could kiss his backside. I am ashamed to say that Barry made me a Republican before I knew what he was about. After 1970, I would not have voted for BMG for dog catcher.

Richard Nixon was certainly preferable to George McGovern but so was anyone this side of Lucifer. Nixon was a waste of a lot of IQ points. He was shrewd rather than wise. Long after leaving office in disgrace, he admitted to being a pro-abort. Just naming Herod Blackmun to the court puts him in the same boat as anything named Romney. George Romney actually ran against Nixon from the left. Detente. Kissinger. And a lifetime of kissing GOP-E backsides while apologizing for breathing. Humphrey was an unmixed patriot and would probably been a better POTUS. George Wallace: Ditto. In 1968, I voted for the third best of three candidates.

Gerald Ford: Willke's only competitor in ineptitude. Think of Gerald Ford as Nixon's Revenge. Nixon named him VPOTUS as term insurance since no member of Congress could have escaped knowing him and therefore none could have wanted such a brainless political bimbo and apparatchik in the White House. The electorate took care of the Ford problem when given a chance. He refused to allow Solzhenitsyn to visit the White House lest our soviet "pals" be offended. He put John Paul Stevens on the SCOTUS. He married Betty. Literally and figuratively, he could not walk and chew gum at the same time.

Reagan was sent by God to save this nation. Jimmuh Cahtuh was elected to show the electorate just how necessary Reagan's election was and then sent Mondale 4 years later to confirm the trend. Bear in mind that Reagan had a political lifelong habit of keeping his friends close and his enemies closer. His Lieutenant Governors in California were generally far more liberal than he and so was George Herbert Walker (New World Order and "Voodoo Economics") Bush.

After understandably electing GHWB against Snoopy in the Tank, the public recovered to solve the Bush the Elder problem after reading his lips in the 1992 election. Unfortunately, his privileged ineptitude led us to 8 years of Billy Jeff/Hillary. Even so, we survived.

Somebody dragged Bob Dole out of a nursing home. Jack Kemp ran with him but Kemp had been right to call Dole "the tax collector for the welfare state." Kemp should have been the nominee but he played football instead of polo and that was a fatal error and social faux pas with the GOP-E and Kemp also had functioning brain cells which the GOP-E never likes.

I know Karl Rove and you don't. I once traveled from my then New England home to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, to be one of five delegates to oppose his election as College Republican National Chairman. He was a whore then and has not much changed since he is Romney's shameless cheerleader. There is more to Rove than you know and he has overcome a very toxic upbringing for which he should be admired but his politics reek. Rove may be a whore but he is not a Rockefeller type. He was Bush the Younger's brain. OTOH, Bush the Younger is a serious committed Christian whose turn to faith pulled him out of a gutter of alcoholism and drug abuse. He named Roberts and Alito to SCOTUS and was man enough to whack Saddam which his daddy refrained from doing. I'll take him any time over AlGore or John (did you know he served in Vietnam but in service to the Cong?) Kerry. Bush overcame his unfortunate privileged background and toxic parents to be a reasonably decent POTUS. His biggest mistake by far was bailing out the corrupt GOP-E greedheads with TARP. His Secretary of the Treasury and each and every co-conspirator in that farce should be spending all of their declining years in the federal hotel and not federal special privileged country clubs either. It had the odor of W's daddy's S & L bailout moves. Electing presidents to save Muffy's trust fund is NEVER a good idea. W would have been an outstanding POTUS but for that and his reluctance to veto Congressional nonsense. Did a pretty good job for a Yale frat boy.

Romney: a bridge too far. He is as bad as his daddy was and cannot be trusted any further than you can throw the Taj Mahal with one hand. He is the Mayflower Madame of GOP-E nominees and enough is absolutely enough and I don't care who he is running against. 44 years (mostly with the exception of Ronaldus Maximus) of voting for a lot of GOP POS candidates because they were allegedly running against the antiChrist is enough and more than enough. No more!

It was not easy living with Slick Willie and the Dogpatch regime but the republic survived. If AlGore had been elected (which I would not have preferred), the republic would have survived but the Demonrat Party might not have (see the lesson of Jimmuh Cahtuh). Kerry is a traitor and a menace to the republic. Four more years of Obozo are not enough to destroy the republic. Electing Romney might well mean an end to the GOP as well as of the republic. Any favorite countries you intend to move to if Myth finishes off the republic??? I hear Andorra is still tolerable.

I had not realized that Romney had eaten babies and puppies but, hey, no real surprise! If you are not nuts about these trashy children of privilege who infest the GOP, at some point you have to PROVE it by voting against them in general elections. Your vote is your vote. Mine is mine. I am no longer going to be taken for granted by the spoiled brats of the GOP-E just because their candidates are RICH!!! and not formally Demonrats. Their policies demonstrate that they may as well be Demonrats. I am not going to be frightened by folks calling Obozo a Marxist which he certainly is. I hate to break it to you but the Demonrats have been the Marxist Party since George McGovern's nomination. This is nothing new. The reflexive response of the GOP-E is to look at the Marxist enemy and bleat pathetically: Let's Make a Deal! Let's Make a Deal! Let's Make a Deal! I believe what I say I believe and I am not interested in any further deals made by spaghetti-spined GOP-E tools.

There may or may not be a third party. I am voting for one this year. The basic message is: NO MORE RINO TRASH AS GOP NOMINEES!!! I will not vote on a federal, state or local level for ANY candidate of ANY party who will tolerate furtherance of the American Holocaust of innocent babies. Nor for any candidate with a likelihood, much less a demonstrated track record for persecuting the Roman Catholic Church to which I belong. Both Obozo and Myth have identical track records for persecuting Catholicism. We Catholics (28% of the nation) are the largest denomination in the US and we are in general agreement on issues that count with Southern Baptists (17% of the nation). Then there are non-denominational Evangelicals, Missouri Synod Lutherans, Wisconsin Evangelical Synod Lutherans, actual pro-life, pro-family Mormons (which does not include Myth), Orthodox Christians, Orthodox Jews and a lot of other folks. Myth and Obozo agree to persecute them all.

Now, you apparently feel differently or think differently or whatever. You will vote for Myth Romney with all that such a vote necessarily entails. You will tell yourself: He's not sooooo bad! How bad can he really be compared to Obozo??? If you succeed, we will find out. Be prepared to defend your choice of Romney. Actual conservatives will NOT let you forget. Another analogy is that you prefer to be cooked directly in the fire rather than the frying pan. I prefer not to be cooked at all. But that's just me.

I'll take Santa Claus but will gladly settle for Tom Hoefling, our own Eternal Vigilance. He has an additional advantage of not playing Santa Claus with your money or anyone's other than his own. I won't have to apologize to my Savior for voting for Tom or try to outrationalize Jesus Christ on the question of cooperating materially with the evil that is BOTH Myth and Obozo.

I’d offer a mild defense of Eisenhower (whom I preferred would not to have been the nominee in 1952, with my endorsement going to Taft/MacArthur). I don’t believe even he had any idea that Earl Warren would be anything other than the establishment status quo type that had marked his political career (hence a “don’t rock the boat” type on SCOTUS). Unlike Ford, who never regretted, and was indeed proud of, his appointment of the odious leftist Stevens, Ike did regret elevating the White male Angela Davis to Chief Justice.

Ike on Warren & Brennan: “I made two mistakes, and both of them are sitting on the Supreme Court.”

I am betting that you would agree with me that we don’t need any more “mistakes” on SCOTUS and that Romney is likely to make nothing but “mistakes” in appointments to SCOTUS and other courts and that the Republican senators will break out their pom poms and miniskirts for any “mistake” he makes and make believe that they are other than “mistakes” while they might stop Obozo appointments just because he is not a GOP monarch, i.e. Obozo’s communist social revolutionaries will be opposed as Romney’s communist social revolutionaries will not.

With similar respect, I did not attend that event. My recollection of the 1976 Kansas City GOP national convention was that the delightfully noisy and disruptive Reagan delegates made it impossible for Ford to give his acceptance speech unless Reagan was allowed to speak to the convention first and that Reagan took to the podium to thank his delegates and to urge them to go home and work to elect their US senators and congressman, governors and state legislators and win a big victory-—nary a word about Ford on national TV. That was the equivalent of “Screw Ford and his pals and I’ll be back in four years.” If Reagan just said Republican ticket, I believe that what he meant did not include Ford or Dole. It doesn’t matter now but many of us who had led his effort took it that way and I am ashamed to say I voted for Ford in November, 1976, on the usual excuse that the Demonrat candidate Jimmuh Cahtuh was the boogie man and we just HAD to vote for yet another RINO that one LAST time-—at least according to the usual gang of DC Insiders/GOP-E suspects.

Oh, Willard’s record on judges in MA is absolutely horrible, and he cannot be trusted on that or any issue (unless the issue is lying, backstabbing or buying endorsements... all of which he is an expert of almost without equal).

Sadly, the GOP will rubber stamp the worst of the worst for SCOTUS (or any Cabinet Secretary), regardless if it is Zero or Willard making the appointment. I still cannot fathom how Hillary Clinton was approved for Sec of State knowing her role in criminal misconduct (i.e. viewing of the FBI files, which should’ve gotten her a year in prison for each, as what the late Chuck Colson received for seeing just one).

In 1976 it was cool to be a Boogie Man ... Get down tonight with K.C. and the Sunshine Band!

Tangential story. My wife and I have avoided references to the bogey man (1940s version, with some guy named Humphrey playing the part) with our children to avoid all the ritual and inconvenience the bogey man entails.

Quite spontaneously, based only on a classic book cover, my three year old boy has developed a phobia of Mother Goose, thinking that creepy old broad was going to swoop in on her giant bird and take him away.

My eldest daughter used to have fears that Hillary Clinton was going to come to take her away.

If the bogey man doesn't exist, children must create him.

Vote for Romney? That would be something like riding a moped or (dating) a fat girl, wouldn't it? Or this: You wouldn't want your FRiends catching you doing it.
