Between 20,000 and 30,000 North Korean women are “sex slaves” in China sold into marriage, prostitution, or forced to sell phone and online sex to South Koreans, Ha Tae-keung, a member of South Korea’s national assembly, told Business Insider. South Koreans are regular customers at brothels in China, which are often controlled by local ethnic Korean Chinese and South Korean gangs who collaborate to exploit North Korean women. “It’s a modern form of slavery where you’re sold into a forced situation for a price,” said Frank Jannuzi of Amnesty International. Female defectors make up about 70 percent of the 100,000 to 200,000 North Koreans in China hiding among the 2 million ethnic Korean Chinese. Some flee into the mountains where they struggle for food and shelter and to elude Chinese police and North Korean security agents working to find and deport them.

I was the only male on the jury so I was clearly outnumbered. I couldn't introduce this for the woman's defense since it was not introduced in court but, after the guilty verdict, I told the prosecutors how poorly the case was tried given the lack of this angle in both the defense and the proceedings. Yes, I know I could have spent hours trying to convince all the women to change their vote but most just wanted to go home, cook dimmer and get on with their lives.

I still use the term “Red China”; they are evil.
Having said that, as long as they are our preferred trading partners these stories are just bread & circuses for the masses; North Korea wouldn’t even exist without the support of Red China, so these stories are just boogeyman nonsense.
But at least China does not engage in an evil War on Women like Republicans do!
Chinese can’t hold slaves in the 21st century. That’s impossible.
Muslims can’t hold slaves in the 21st century. That’s impossible.
The only people who could ever own slaves were those evil European and American white guys from the 1600s-1800s.
That’s what slavery means. (And it doesn’t mean the Africans and Muslims who profited from the Slave Trade. Only those evil white guys.)

If the recently announced fetal DNA strand test that lets you check for genetic abormalities and the child’s gender becomes cheaper than sonograms, the 6 boys / 4 girls gender ratio in China today will become a boy glut, as girls are terminated in the first trimester.
Then there will be a real war on women, as their disposal becomes less morally challenging to many and even unnoticeable because it is so easy.
And with the US President saying that we can’t restrict abortion because you don’t want a girl, that war on women will likely hit here, too.
