TALLAHASSEE, Fla – Federal authorities are demanding that Florida halt its push to remove ineligible voters from the voter rolls.
In a move that comes just months before the state could play a pivotal role in the 2012 presidential election, the U.S. Department of Justice contends that the state is violating federal law in its effort to identify and remove ineligible voters.
The state's effort has already come under fire from local election supervisors who belong to both political parties, as well as Democratic members of Congress and voting rights groups.
Chris Cate, a spokesman for the Florida Department of State, said state officials were still reviewing the letter, but hinted Florida may fight federal authorities.
"Bottom line is we are firmly committed to doing the right thing and preventing ineligible voters from being able to cast a ballot," Cate said.
Florida, at the urging of Republican Gov. Rick Scott, began looking for non-U.S. citizens on its voter rolls last year. An initial search turned up as many as 182,000 registered voters who may not be U.S. citizens.

Not that many of those brave WWII vets roam the earth these days.
And you decide you’re big enough to call one a prick for lying about his age 70 or so years ago.

The guy *lied* to the state to get a driver’s license while he was two years underage. He broke the law. Then, when he got a letter asking to explain the age discrepancy, he had the nerve to complain about it.
Not every WWII to vet is a man of honor. This one certainly is not.
That would be interesting as Holder is in no State's National Guard's unit's chain of command.
Furthermore, despite a 'law' "authoriz[ing] the President to take control of the National Guard", most States give control of their National Guard to their Governor in their State Constitution. (The ones whose Constitutions I've read.)
Guess what! Those same Constitutions do not allow for federal senators or representatives to amend them; therefore, the "law" is null and void as it grants to the federal government powers which are specifically reserved to the state [via their Constitution]. (Unless you want to make the case that's congress providing for the calling forth of the militia to enforce the laws of the United States... but in that case you'd have to explain how the removal of ineligible voters is violative of US laws.)

This guy was *not* removed from the voter rolls. He was asked to explain the age discrepancy — a discrepancy caused by his lie, all because he couldn’t wait, like the rest of us did, until it was lawful for him to drive a car.
And then *he* has the nerve to complain about Florida officials who are trying to clean up an ugly mess so that dead and illegal voters no longer cancel out our votes, votes that other war veterans fought and died to protect.
You're going to have to do better than that. A 91 year-old Vet of the 75th Inf. Div. awarded the bronze star for actions in the Battle of the Bulge and Legion of Honor for service in France deserves better than 'he lied about his DL or a democrat said.'
Apparently he was considered honorable enough to merit an Honorable Discharge.

Lots of assumptions here. Let's start with the first: that the driver's licenses are legitimately a function of government. Second, that, as referenced here, a "motor vehicle" might not mean [legally] what you think it does. Third, even if it is a possible legitimate function of government, it might not be used appropriately (e.g. standing armies).
Secondly, even if it is a law, it might not be a legitimate one. I'm living in SD and the state Constitution is clear "The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the state shall not be denied.", and yet there's a whole chapter dealing with what arms [or the bearing thereof] are unlawful.
Given the above, do you think it's right to jump off the deep end and call him a prick?
No, he's a prick for allowing himself to be used as a tool by the Left. What he should have said is, Look, I lied about my age many years ago, and that age discrepancy flagged the system. The system worked exactly as it was supposed to work, and I commend the Florida officials in their efforts to eliminate massive voter fraud from our system.
Instead he's playing poster boy for the attack to halt the cleanup of the Florida voter rolls, so that fraud can deliver the state to Obama in November.

And if we go back 10 years, Holder should be in jail for complicity in the murder of 79 human beings in Waco.
Of course I don't know the mind of G-d, but methinks Holder will find his accommodations after he dies very hot, dry, and tormented.

Who said he's not eligible to vote? I didn't. Florida didn't. The letter said he needed to prove he was eligible to vote. Big deal. I have to do that every time I go to the polls.
And if the price of eliminating voter fraud that cancels out my vote is getting a letter like he did, and having to prove my eligibility yet again, then send me the letter! I won't complain like this guy.
Some, more than others know honor and the value of it.
