Swatting is a tactic of the radical left Occupy types. They try to create anarchy by overwhelming first responders with false cries for help.

That will be an expensive hoax, if true, and they track down the perpetrator.

Numerous emergency vehicles and personnel were used for search and rescue. The bill could be in the hundreds of thousands — with possible jail time, as well.

The perp won’t be laughing long.

I think this is the second time this has happened in the last six months or so.

I tell you what’s about to happen here.

So far, it has just been extremist Leftists taking shots at conservatives. So nothing is done about it since Obama and Holder’s Just-Us Dept couldn’t care less about that sort of thing.

Since nothing is being done, someone who really wants to hurt us is going to figure out how to use this to really draw off the first responders to either get them, or more likely create an incident where the majority of the first responders aren’t able to react in a timely manner.

I was wrong, it was a year ago almost to the day:

I betting it was a pre-planned distraction, in the event the CG were too close to, or in the way of an illegal operation.

No boat, no debris, no bodies, no life rafts, no swimmers to be found.

"pre-planned distraction"

I agree. The questions are who, what, wnd why? The Feds should be all over this one. There were a plethora of departments distracted yesterday. USCG, Jersey state and locals, NYPD, and Nassau County PD. A lot of sea and air assets were tied up looking for that yacht. Someone planned it that way.

I tell you what’s about to happen here.

Initial Coast Guard estimates put the search's cost at around $88,000, but that figure could go higher, Hitchen said.

Making a false distress call is a federal felony that carries a prison sentence of five to 10 years and a fine of up to $250,000 in reimbursement to the Coast Guard, the Coast Guard said.

The call was pursued because it contained details more believable than normally seen in hoax calls, the Coast Guard said. More than 50 Coast Guard personnel were involved in the search, as well as members of the New York City police, fire departments, New Jersey state police, Nassau County police, and community volunteers.

There are about six yachts named the "Blind Date" nationwide, the Coast Guard said, and officials are investigating each one's location and owner. Most of the yachts do not fit the description from the call.

A reward of $3,000 for information leading to the arrest of the hoax perpetrators is being offered.

What if a terrorist (or more likely a drug runner) wanted to divert resources so as to have free rein to conduct “business?”
